I think it’s become pretty apparent at this point that Elon Musk is all too ready to incite a race war in this country — and in fact, he would enjoy it. The man is from South Africa and he knows the ugliness of apartheid. That’s probably what stimulates him towards making this perfectly awful suggestion. Let us hope that Trump doesn’t follow this piece of ill-advice. Although from what we’ve seen so far, anything that Elon or Vladimir thinks is a good idea soon gets implemented.

That is not how it went down. That is the right-wing propaganda version of what happened. Thank you once more, Ronnie Raygun, for abrogating the Fairness Doctrine so that nonsense goes out on the airwaves without the opportunity for an opposing opinion to be heard. I do not know if Reagan knew that eliminating the Fairness Doctrine would result in the world we live in today, but it did.
Rush Limbaugh realized in the 80’s under the Reagan reign what a gold mine he could have and he went on the airwaves and spewed what he spewed with no rebuttal. Then you got Matt Drudge. Rupert Murdoch realized that America was fertile ground for his brand of sensationalism and propaganda masquerading as news and commentary. That was 27 years ago and so there is an entire generation of adults who have never known a world without Fox News.
And we have children growing up today who see the *president* of this country attack other presidents and prime ministers. They are learning that boorishness and bullying is the way that things are done at the top. This is cultural poison.
I very much support BLM but this is a rational argument. If we could have more fact-based rational arguments from people we could return to civil discourse.

the tweet ends “countless criminals in his career and all without a single complaint. He did his job well. Derek could have too and didn’t.” There are terrific cops and there are horrific cops. Chauvin was one of the latter and he was convicted on substantial evidence. It’s all being whitewashed now.
Trump may be insane enough to pardon Chauvin. I don’t know how drunk with power and gone from dementia Trump is. I would think that Susie Wiles or anybody around Trump who is rational would boycott this idea vociferously. But it may not work, because Trump is in Mad King Donald mode and he may indeed believe that he can get away with anything.
We’ll see if this topic is raised tonight. If it is, then prepare for hellfire in the near future. Chauvin is guilty as hell. The evidence was compelling. This whitewash and relitigation is completely nuts.

Correct me if I’m wrong but the federal charges are civil rights ones and Chauvin was convicted of murder on state charges. Which means his evil ass will stay in prison where he belongs. However I wouldn’t be at all surprised to see Trump do what Musk suggests, perhaps even tonight. I’m betting tonight’s address is going to be the most ‘in your face all who oppose me’ speech ever given by an American leader, much less President.
I’ve watched the tape of George Floyd’s MURDER several times. It’s sickening and Shapiro bullshit is exactly that. Bullshit. I’ll bet Ben has never been in a chokehold. I have, since I was trained on how to use them. We practiced (under close supervision) on each other. It’s terrifying not to be able to breathe IN air. The thing is however, you can still exhale some which is how people being choked can get some words out! That’s something assholes who do the “if he was being choked how could he speak” don’t understand. Nuance like that might as well be astrophysics for them.
If Musk and for that matter Trump get their way Charlie Mason will be looking up from hell with approval as his ‘Helter Skelter’ becomes a reality in this country. I doubt Trump ever actually read the book (I did, long ago) but I know he’s at least flipped through it some. He knows the concept. Musk probably views it as some holy tome and you are spot-on mentioning his being raised in a South Africa where Apartheid was the way of things.
It would not be surprising if he did follow up on Musk’s order so that he could then call up HIS military to go in and bust the heads of the protesters who will surely be out in full force. He so wants that beautiful Civil War so they can kill them some of those nasty BLM folks that he hates sooo much.
