As expected, Russia has been paying attention to anything and everything that involves Zelenskyy and Ukraine in the news. That’s to be expected. But word has come out that the US Foreign Policy shift is in line with its own. Suuuure it is. They’re putting that out there to spin the disastrous meeting on Friday to their advantage. After all, we know tRump is in bed with Putin. I think that’s obvious to everyone now.
Our government is out for itself at this point. And that includes courting Russia. It will be a hard fight to get a peace deal with them and Ukraine without Ukraine losing a whole lot more than they are willing to give. And that’s bullsht. That’s pure unadulterated bullsht.
Let’s look at some of the comments coming out. “The new administration is rapidly changing all foreign policy configurations. This largely aligns with our vision.” Uh huh. “There is a long way to go because a lot of damage has been done to the whole complex of bilateral relations. But if the political will of the two leaders, President Putin and President Trump, is maintained, this path can be quite quick and successful.” Successful for Russia, maybe.
I’m sure all of you know of my support for Ukraine. I don’t think any sensible person (that does not include MAGA) would NOT want to support Ukraine. They need all the help they can get. So why can’t we do it anymore? Because Agent Orange prefers Russia? I feel that Putin is holding all the cards and is getting ready to hold Ukraine’s feet to the fire. Our worthless leader will let him! After all, Putin is a dictator even though they have “elections.’ The Mango Mandarin wants to be a dictator, remember?
Russia is watching this debacle and rubbing its hands together in glee. This is just what they needed – a break between the US and Ukraine that may not ever be bridged again. At this point, I’m not sure we’ll ever be able to help them again (thanks DonOld). So, what in the hell do we do now? What can the sane people in the US do? Congress is scared of its own shadow and won’t naysay the Traitor Tot. There’s really nothing the legal part of our country can do except try and force the administration to give them the money and defense equipment already allocated. Well, that’s not working for the people owed money from USAID. It’s not likely to work on Ukraine’s behalf, either.
Our country just keeps going downhill. Our Cheesy Poof President is out for what he can get. If that means the country loses things, important things, too bad, so sad. Dammitall. Argh. We’re still in the first 100 days. I swear I’m going to set up a counter so I can count the days remaining in his term. It will keep me amused while we have to wait and see if we survive. And I can write. I can write about what’s important. That’s still something!
*****And now, please read a very special request from our awesome boss******
Friends, we thank you if you have already donated. If you have not, and are able, we use the donations to pay the overhead until our traffic gets back up to normal again. Everything crashed after November 5, which is why you see people like Joy Reid getting fired and Jim Acosta resigning. We are at war in this country. Truth v. Lies. This blog will always bring you the truth as long as we have internet access and Kash Patel doesn’t carry us off. I have no idea how bizarre things could get. Truly I don’t. But we’re in it together.
