Despite knowing better, I always kind of liked GOP Sen. Lisa Murkowski. I’m going to get absolutely lit in the comments but I was down for the fact that there was this wild streak in her where she would get way aside of GOP talking points and I sort of romantically associate it with a frontiersman approach, “Fck it” type of attitude. Yes, yes, yes, she voted to confirm all these losers, she is mostly devoted to Trump, and certainly has more “concerns” than action. I get it. I just like the fact that one of Trump’s GOP critics is from Alaska, a place far enough away so as to not give AF. I really like the fact that she’s near the lone voice in calling Trump out over his all-too-obvious loyalty to Vladimir Putin. On this, she is a bit more than concerned. “Sick to my stomach” goes beyond uncomfortable.
“This week started with administration officials refusing to acknowledge that Russia started the war in Ukraine,” Murkowski said. “It ends with a tense, shocking conversation in the Oval Office and whispers from the White House that they may try to end all U.S. support for Ukraine.”
“I know foreign policy is not for the faint of heart, but right now, I am sick to my stomach as the administration appears to be walking away from our allies and embracing Putin, a threat to democracy and U.S. values around the world.”
The nice thing about this comment is both there is very little nuance or vagaries in it – sick to one’s stomach is about as good as it gets. Additionally, she isn’t criticizing Trump’s blow up so much as what it was based on – the more lasting problem, Trump’s servile approach to Putin. Democrats were very quick to pick up on the new development:
Democratic insider Brian Goldsmith said, “If only there were something she could do about this.”
To be fair, at this point there is likely fck all she can do about it. But that’s the right sentiment.
Attorney and TV legal analyst Jeffrey Evan Gold replied, “Consider who you voted for to control the levers of power in Trump’s government. It will not end well.”
And then there is the MAGA influencer named after feline poop, Catturd, who won’t counsel any Trump criticism and went after Murkowski:
Pro-Trump influencer Catturd said, “Lisa Murkowski has made us all sick at our stomachs for years. Listening to her and looking at her.”
Ouch. The “looking at her” is vicious – a shot at a woman with connotations that men wouldn’t get. Anyway, I still kind of like her, which is probably her main problem with the MAGAs. She is certainly right to be sick about this, though.

Friends, we are struggling to make ends meet. It’s not just us, it’s industry wide. There are star hosts being bumped on MSNBC as we speak. (Joy Reid and Alex Wagner) So if you can afford a small donation or a monthly subscription, it would be greatly appreciated. Thank you. Ursula

Hypocrites. Pure and simple. They talk to cover their asses then vote with the American Nazi Party and everything the rich want done. Hey Lisa…I wonder what YOUR net worth is…working or middle class? Nope. Your phucking words mean NOTHING. As the saying goes…actions speak louder and talk is cheap. You and Susan can get together to wring your hands in collective concern. Phuck you six ways to Sunday and twice on Mondays.
Human beings are not that simple. Some are, yes, but far more are more complicated. And the full truth likely will never come out – about any of us, you and me included. But I’m inclined to go with Jason in that the best response is “If only there were something she could do about it.”
She talks about concerns, and votes party line except when her vote wouldn’t change the result. Massive hypocrite just like Sen. Collins
Being a politician in Alaska is a very weird gig and I admire Murkowski for surviving it so many years. She is the daughter of a former Alaska senator who also served as governor, but she never relied on mere nepotism status. In 2010, when the crazy Tea Party was disrupting everything, Murkowski was an incumbent senator, but lost the Republican primary. She re-took her Senate seat by winning through a massive write-in vote!
“According to CQ Roll Call, she voted with President Barack Obama’s position 72.3% of the time in 2013; she was one of only two Republicans to vote with Obama over 70% of the time. She opposed Brett Kavanaugh’s Supreme Court nomination in 2018 and supported Ketanji Brown Jackson’s Supreme Court nomination in 2022. In 2021, she was one of seven Republican senators to vote to convict Donald Trump of incitement of insurrection in his second impeachment trial; the Alaska Republican Party censured her for that vote.”*
If other moderate Republicans had not joined a cult, Murkowski’s bipartisan behavior would be far more respected.

What was her vote on the TWO impeachments where this fascist pig was caught red handed? Whispering in the closet when the phucking house is on fire IS NOT worthy of admiration.
One-and one.
Voted to acquit in the first trial.
Voted to convict in the second trial.
