Zelensky Says He Ain’t Apologizing to No One

If you had any doubt as to the historic nature of the literal fight that occurred in the Oval Office between President Donald Trump, VP JD Vance, and President Volodymyr Zelensky, a cursory review of the media Friday night would certainly concentrate the mind. One thing we know, Zelensky isn’t going to roll over for nobody. After being interviewed two months ago by Podcaster Lex Fridman, Fridman backed Zelensky fulling saying that Zelensky was “all in” for Ukrainians, that he’s met the families of the dead in the countryside, and that the Ukrainian president was a true “Braveheart-type hero.” Yes, that does seem to be the case because in perhaps the most intimidating office in the world, Zelensky held his ground and then recognized the importance of the showdown immediately and went on Fox News to press his case.

It was while on Fox that Zelensky was asked about his take on finding peace in the region and his summation of the meeting. Even in the belly of the beast Fox News, Zelensky pressed forward while also showing himself well:

“Nobody wants to finish this war more than we. Because we in Ukraine we are in this war, we are in this battle and battle for freedom for our lives, still. So, I’m just telling that I think that we have to be on the same side, and I hope that the president, on our side together with us and that is very important to stop Putin.”

It is to the point that many Americans are now openly criticizing the White House as wanting to do anything but stop Putin, indeed help him. Zelensky finds himself isolated in today’s White House as somehow the bad guy, even to the point as to whether he owes Trump and Vance. It is a striking question because Vance was clearly the instigator, things had been pretty normal until the usually somewhat steady Vance just leveled the attack. Zelensky’s answer to Bair was perfect.

Baier continued to press Zelensky: “I’m not hearing from you, Mr. President, a thought that you owe the president an apology.

“No, I respect president, and I respect the American people, and if – I don’t know…I think that we have to be very open and very honest. And I’m not sure that we did something bad. I think maybe sometimes, some things, we have to discuss out of media, with all respect to the democracy and to a free media, but there are things that where we have to understand the position of Ukraine and Ukrainians”

“And I think that is the most important thing.”

About the only thing one might critique about Zelensky in all of this is whether he should have – as things got heated, asked Trump if he could address the issue without the media around. Of course, the very fact that this blew up in front of the media is what is going to help Zelensky with all his other allies, Japan, Canada, the EU… They have all weighed in with support while the U.S. seems more isolated than ever.

So it was very smart of Zelensky who understood that a “moment” occurred. A very historical one. Going on Fox News was spot on. Even when coming here to press his case, he is still most-watched by the people at home – and he had their backs. They will see him on Fox News, refusing to apologize for Ukraine’s position and not backing down.

Anyone can say anything about Zelensky so long as they realize that this guy is “all in” and he damn sure isn’t a coward.

  1. I f only someone, anyone in the US government, had one iota of the honesty, strength, courage, and strength of character of Volodymyr Oleksandrovych Zelenskyy.

Instead we have a motley bunch of untrustworthy, lying, bullying, craven cowards, pumped up with their own self-importance, so used to believing their own lies, they have inured themselves to truth, facts, and reality.

And they are the elected government. 100 years of carefully nurtured diplomacy gone in a five minute rant, and in the mendacious actions of a mere few weeks of mis-wielded power.

    God help the USA.

    Because they can’t.

    • Worse, we have a Toddler in Chief who has no understanding of international history and politics and who regards Putin , a murderous thug, as a role model. If we’re lucky,,Adam Schiff,,Liz,Cheney, and the rest won’t start falling Prime out windows, being blown up in their cars, or suffer radiation poisoning. Because if Trump thought he could get away with it,,Hakeem Jeffries,,Nancy Pelosi,,and anyone serving on the impeachment committee would be toastm

  2. Trumpler hated Zelensky from the moment the Ukrainian president refused to corrupt himself by helping in a phony conspiracy against the Bidens back in 2019. Like all weak men, Trumpler the bully hates and fears an actual strong man, one who will stand up to him. That’s why his current cabinet is stocked with cowards and ass-kissers like Vance. The catastrophe of the Trump regime has just begun. Buckle up, folks: this is, after all, a self-inflicted disaster.

  3. Zelensky has nothing to apologize for. I guess Vance was tapped to be the heavy. WHY was this being broadcast? Was the point to make Zelensky look.bad for telling the truth, in order to make Trump.have a reason to take Vlad’s side?
