This was one helluva surprise!
Apparently people in what used to be USDS are tired of DOGe and the nonsense. Today 21 members of that organization resigned “in protest” of what Muskrat is doing, according to a federal government employee with knowledge of the resignations. Wow. It seems there are more people who are unhappy with what Elon is doing. They’re letting us know about it in the most public way possible. They’ve had enough and I have too, albeit not being able to do the same thing. So I write my pieces with the best information I can and protest in my own little way.
DOGe is really getting out of hand. Let me remind you of that email sent to 2.2 *million* people telling them they need to defend their jobs. Rebellion is slowly growing and it took long enough to do so. The heads of different organizations told them not to reply, so how is Muskrat going to enforce it? For 2.2 million people? And sending it to judges was a major mistake. It just pissed them off and I hope we see something coming out of it.
But back to our story. These are, according to this source, “Your most skilled people – pretty much handling the top priorities – they all just resigned. Engineers, designers, data scientists, project managers, leading work on critical projects across the government..” Well then! How well is DOGe going to work with their top talent gone? Are they going to put in more political employees that aren’t going to do a damn thing against Elon? Are the projects going to fade into obscurity? I have no idea what they were working on except for the small bit I posted, but this is not good.
Their resignation letter states: “We will not use our skills as technologists to compromise core government systems, jeopardize Americans’ sensitive data, or dismantle critical public services,” adding “We will not lend our expertise to carry out or legitimize DOGE’s actions.”
We *need* that talent. We obviously need those projects. And for people to resign in protest seems to mean that they felt resigning was the best choice? Ouch. It just gets worse and worse. We can hope this makes people sit up and take notice. How do we make use of it? There has to be a way to put a little helpful spin on it to use in protest. There has to be a way to get this to Congress so the Democrats and possibly even a few Republicans can use it. There has to be a way to do this. I want to stop DOGe excesses. I want Congress to wake up and see this. I want it to be more publicized.
It’s time for red states to sit up and take more notice of all of it. They’re noticing that Republicans are trying to pass a bill with cuts to Medicaid and that’s not going over well. Constituents are asking hard questions that their elected representatives can’t answer. How much longer are people going to wait before they figure out that DOGe is Really Bad News and their representatives aren’t doing what’s best for the country instead of a few select people?
Please, people, let’s get them to wake up. Ask them to take a look at what’s happening to our country. Ask your representatives those hard questions. Make your anger known. Make your unhappiness known. We are going downhill towards aristocracy faster and faster every day and we need to stop it. Somehow, some way, we need to stop it or even at least slow it down. Spread the word. Talk to whomever you can and make it constructive. Point out the issues and what’s happening. Let’s Do This.

Susan, how do you ask people who are determined to be deaf dumb and blind to sit up and take notice? I have no answer other than “there are none so blind as those who will not see”. They say things like “Of course we only watch Fox, “everyone knows” all the other channels just feed you what their bosses (alternately Jews, politicians, liberals, “traitor” of the day) want them to say. When people only listen to ANY one source of news, they will only get one viewpoint and everyone else is wrong. I saw a woman from Oklahoma or some place on TV whining about DOGE cuts affecting HER!!!! “I’m just a normal regular American (presumably because she watches Fox and isn’t black, hispanic, Jewish, Asian, etc) and they’re hurting my family. They weren’t supposed to do that!!” I figure they’ll figure it out eventually, but things would have to get much MUCH worse before their Fox-addled brains can get past the programming. The good news is after enough people died in conflict and war and violence, eventually they killed Caucescu and Mousolini.

Don’t worry. Elmo has all these smart, savvy, sycophantic recent high school and college graduates who can take their place.
Remember the old line “Hire a teenager while they still know everything.”? I think it now reads, “Hire a right-wing kiddo 25 or younger with no actual.relevant experience other than interning for 3 months at a,Musk company.” I suspect people who could actually DO the job couldn’t get an interview– or if currently GS employees, have resigned.
