He’s done more than just the horrible speech at the Munich Security Conference.
JD Vance has been stretching his wings and has come out of the background, more into his own. There’s the speech, of course, then he put Ukrainian President Vlodymyr Zelensky on notice (grrr), moved to Capitol Hill to help in delicate budget talks, and defended the tRump administration in public. I’m impressed. Of course, then there’s also the nasty thing of having a half-hour-long conversation with a member of AfD. That does NOT impress me.
Seems like the Mango Mandarin is actually making use of him, which was about the last thing I expected after not seeing him do anything for the time before the MSC. I figured he’d be given some ”busy work” so tRump could take all the credit for anything and everything. Instead, it’s been some very public moments and I was not expecting that. Seems he’s become tRump’s enforcer, for a picturesque way to describe it. Oof.
Of course, the Confused Carrot is capricious and changes his mind at the drop of a hat, so stability with JD is a good thing. I did find that tRump told JD to take over the TikTok negotiations and we haven‘t heard much about that lately. Kinda makes you wonder what’s going on with it. We also do have to remember that Muskrat was “replacing” him as VP for quite a while. How nice of the Orange Baby Balloon to remember JD. So, I don’t know if he will go back to his behind-the-scenes, or have enough strength of will to go against tRump and stay out *in* the public eye.
He has stepped forward into a portfolio of an international representative, congressional liaison (whoa), and leading surrogate, all the while negotiating around tRump and his mercurial changes. He also has an active and provocative presence on social media, which is apparently fitting for the first millennial to hold office. But then there’s this:
His assertion in a post on X that “judges aren’t allowed to control the executive’s legitimate powers” sparked concern from constitutional scholars that the president might ignore judicial rulings. (Trump has since said he intends to “follow the law,” though he raised a new round of fears with a cryptic social media post: “He who saves his Country does not violate any Law.”)
The judicial branch damn well does control the executive branch *when necessary*. The executive branch is not all-knowing, even though tRump is trying to make it that way. Remember, our country was set up for 3 branches of government. Congress is running scared so we’ve lost that one. But we still have a chance with the Supreme Court, even though the Traitor Tot has a conservative supermajority. Things don’t always go his way and thank heavens they don’t. But yes, JD Vance is coming into his own. Let’s hope it continues in a better way, not a worse one.
******And now, please read a very special request from our awesome boss******
Friends, thank you if you have donated to PolitiZoom. If you haven’t done so yet and are able to, we need the donations to ensure we have overhead expenses until the traffic gets back to normal. Your guess as to when that will be is as good as mine. What I can tell you is that we have 1/5 of the traffic that we had this time last year. You can see my concern as a business owner, let alone a Democrat and an American. Thank you for anything you can do. Ursula

sorry supreme court ain’t gonna save your sorry ass
We can hope!
JD Vance has no actual personality or beliefs. From the time he was a kid, he has just wanted to find a group to accept him. Nobody did even when he changed his name 5 times for their attention.
His Mom was a nurse high on drugs stolen from her patients. Dad was gone. He didn’t really belong with his grandparents, but he wrote a book about the place they lived and told the story wrong so those folks aren’t his group.
Vance joined the military but wasn’t a real soldier and he wasn’t a big cheese in law school.
A rich lunatic (Thiel) took control of his life and even made him into a Senator Frankenstein who attacked and was attacked by his own constituents.
His President doesn’t like him, the Nazis in Germany don’t need him and every US ally is horrified by his very existence!
As for me, I “fart in his general direction!” 🤢🤮
Ha. Hahahaha. HAHAHA!!!! I did not know some of that. Kinda embarrassing for a writer. I didn’t think this one needed additional explanation. “I wave my private parts at your aunties.”
Is there proof the book wasn’t ghost written? Or heavily revised by the editor?
He did get into Yale law school, which isn’t easy. He wasn’t brilliant like Obama but he graduated, still.an achievement. He is smarter than Donnie. He is a chameleon, which means that in 2028, he’ll say and do whatever it takes to get the nomination, assuming Trump is willing to step down (He’ll be 82 in 2028 and there aren’t any pending criminal.cases so he may just want to play golf; I suppose Junior could run). While I despise JD, he isn’t a criminally insane malignant narcissist, just a guy who will become what’s necessary to get ahead.
