Sometimes you just have to hand it to the Trump administration as breathtakingly efficient and professional. If you are going to have a corrupt administration, you want it straight up, no f**king around, out in the open, no explanation, nothing. And look at what we got as the Trump administration’s DOJ dropped its criminal probe into Vince McMahon who puts the ewww in WWE pro-wrestling with multiple allegations of “sexual misconduct” that was in the process of being investigated. Again, they could have waited a few months to make things look better and less, well – straight up. But man this administration doesn’t play and it pulled the plug within weeks of going to work, you know? The New York Post writes that this thing is over:

Federal prosecutors in Manhattan have dropped a criminal probe that focused on whether former World Wrestling

Entertainment boss Vince McMahon tried to cover up multiple allegations of sexual misconduct, his lawyer told The Post.

This is the coming together of alternative universes such that the matter almost appears to be the height of ethical governance. After all, what smells of corruption more than fake “wrestling” in which even the wrestling isn’t wrestling, the actual moves are faked, the audience knows it’s faked, and the money itself is real? Perfect. Oh, and Donald Trump once pretended (It’s all pretend) to fight Vince McMahon. But wait, there’s more:

The revelation comes as appeals judges on Friday revealed that a grand jury had considered whether the 78-year-old billionaire broke the law by hiding allegations of sexual misconduct from two female former employees, whom he ended up paying $10.5 million to keep quiet.. . McMahon’s wife, Linda McMahon, faces a Senate confirmation hearing Thursday as THE Department of Education secretary nominee.

I said it was perfect. I am not sure what the appeals court had to do with it but dropping the matter is dropping the matter and it makes no sense to me how a court could order that an investigation be dropped, so something weird is going on. Something weird like the fact that this guy’s wife just happens to be the incoming Secretary of Education, which – given that the Trump administration wants to cut the Department of Education, one could argue if the appointment is even a compliment.

It must be. Because they appear to be working hard to get around little “troubles” like criminal probes into sexual misconduct (And the $10.5 million is specific enough that one probably trusts it. Meanwhile, at the very least, this all appears about as corrupt as can be because the other thing is that people don’t do huge “favors” for billionaires for free. That would be silly, you goose. If McMahon paid $10.5 million to the women he abused, surely that is just the starting point for dropping the matter to get him out of it, perhaps even adding a zero.

Yes, corruption is straight up, except not 100% proven. Well, it is tough to prove with certainty without a criminal investigation on which to rely. But the ethical standard that all attorneys, judges, and presumably presidents follow is that one must avoid a conflict (Like dropping a federal probe) and “avoid even the appearance of a conflict” such that the system isn’t questioned and that is where this matter is spectacular. There is nothing under the surface here, little guesswork to be had, the corruption is in your face and the challenge is what to do about it. McMahon is obviously a great guy – he has long supported Donald Trump – and thus shouldn’t be going to prison no matter what he did to those women. It is becoming increasingly apparent that MAGA doesn’t prosecute MAGA, at least MAGA money looks to be 100% protected.

But there is also the fact that even the wrestling itself is faked and so is the purported violence, even the crowd knows it’s all faked. How does one expect to suddenly get a real investigation? Ridiculous.

Is it not just wonderful? We never have to worry about waking up to an explosive report in the New York Times about something regarding Trump not paying taxes, having meetings with Russians, or even that he was paid off to let a guy go. Nope. Never have to worry we’ll get a bomb. The truth is out there already, no need to bust. He will just tell us he’s doing something corrupt or put it in the New York Post. What a breeze of fresh fake air or something. Everything about this guy was based on fake stuff until there really were allegations of misconduct with real money paid out.

But we’re back to safely seeing all this as faked, the ending preordained. Nice. The only thing fake is your concern about it all!
