Gingrich giggled while D.C. fell. A gay anthem song, which for some reason is the favorite of Donald Trump, (a homophobic) has been altered to lionize him and none other than Newt Gingrich, who went on record back in 2016 as saying how clueless Trump was, is now giddy in his reporting of this cultural gem. He’s fully in Trump’s camp now, emoting about how universally loved Trump is when he squeaked by in the popular vote by a little over 1%, the lowest since 1968. But it’s all too cool for school to hear Newt tell it.

The real comedy here is that the joke’s on Newt. He doesn’t know that YMCA is a gay pick up song. Maybe Trump doesn’t know either.
The Contract With America, the Tea Party, Trickle Down Economics, these all led to the mess that we’re in right now. Trump didn’t just burst on the scene one day, the stage was set for one such as he for decades. Trump is the monster and the GOP is Dr. Frankenstein. And we are the innocent villagers and woe is us.
Except half of us villagers seem to think that the monster is really cool and they want it to run the town. In fact, they made the monster Mayor. So we’re at the effect of both the monster and our idiot neighbors who voted for the monster.
I think I’ll monitor the statistics on clinical depression over the next four years. That’s sure to go up. And the Southern Poverty Law Center did statistics of the rise in hate crimes right after Trump’s 2017 inauguration, when the Nazis and the KKK were openly marching in the streets. I intend to monitor those, too.
This is going to be some cultural phenomenon coming up. I hope and pray that we have a culture left when it’s all over.
