File this under Wait For The Explosion. I do appreciate these military women making the effort to defend the valid contributions of other women in the military, which has been substantial. Senator Tammy Duckworth, whom you will hear from below, contributed both her legs to the cause of keeping America safe. Women have served capably and well in the armed forces, as well as every other aspect of life, but Pete Hegseth would have you believe that they are not capable. This is projection on Hegseth’s part. He’s the one who’s not capable.

This is primarily what General Carignan is responding to. Just listen to Hegseth. Every word that comes out of his mouth says more about him and his inadequacies than it does about women and their imagined inferiorities. It’s an anti-woke rant and is recognized as such.

Next is Senator Tammy Duckworth telling the truth about Pete Hegseth. It is not a truth he will like her telling. Pete Hegseth has the nomination for Secretary of Defense, not due to policy or management experience. No, he’s going to run the Pentagon because he looks the part on Fox News and he’s a reactionary. In his recent book The War on Warriors, he implies that women service members who have received military honors for their bravery were decorated because of “an agenda.” Righto, I’m sure Senator Duckworth losing her legs was due to an agenda.
Senator Duckworth correctly points out “Mr. Hegseth is not qualified for the position because he doesn’t understand apparently, even after having served, that women are actually vitally important to an effective military,” she said. “With the recruiting challenges we’re having right now, if we were to pull all those women out and say, you can’t go into combat, we would face a severe personnel crisis in the military.”
She then targeted his military record: “He was a pretty low-ranking guy in the military, and he never had a command position … He was a platoon leader, I think, once or twice, but he never even commanded a company. And so this is a man who is inordinately unqualified for the position.”
Duckworth retired from the military after being one of the first women to fly combat missions during the Iraq War; her rank upon retiring was lieutenant colonel. Hegseth retired at the rank of major.
Her comments came after Hegseth said on a recent podcast: “Everything about men and women serving together makes the situation more complicated, and complication in combat, means casualties are worse.
“I’m straight up just saying that we should not have women in combat roles — it hasn’t made us more effective, hasn’t made us more lethal, has made fighting more complicated.”
Let’s be clear about what’s complicated here: Hegseth is a train wreck. As we wrote a few days ago, even if we take his word for what happened the night of the alleged rape for which he paid the woman off and had her sign an NDA, he still looks like a basket case, drunk and berating hotel staff. The magats will roll over, as she stated. So why does any of this matter. The tyrant wannabe will become the tyrant, seek retribution against his perceived enemies, and destroy everything and with muskrat’s money everyone who opposes him and his project 2025 (that he doesn’t know anything about) agenda. God help and save us. It will not be fun times ahead. I hope that the inauguration doesn’t become his retribution day when he lets the maga hordes attack his enemies to finish what they started January 6th. The military itself has said that the forces are 20% female, and that if they are relegated to strictly noncombat positions, male military types will have to have much longer deployments. He also ignores the simple fact that even before women were off it in combat roles, they were still.going into.dicey combat situations as interpreters and on patrols going house to house to.clear buildings. Muslim.women simply couldn’t or wouldn’t answer questions without a female chaperone. Soldiers die every day during those searches. And some of those were women unofficially included with those patrols and naturally since they refer not allowed to be combatants, didn’t receive combat pay.
