Sarah Palin was MAGA back when Donald Trump thought the country was just great, not in need of any re-do or retraction. Back in Sarah’s 2008 hay-day, she was considered too country for the elitists, which certainly describes the Trump movement now, if not so much the Ivy League, Mid-town Manhattan Billionaire guy leading it. Palin was unafraid to speak her mind, even when – like Trump after her – it didn’t contain a thought that deserved an utterance. She was style over substance, style, style, style. Put it all together and that is quite the multi-pronged MAGA attack – she is almost overly qualified. Or at least she once was. Palin;  “MAGA – the Prequel.”

Which is all great except for the fact that Sarah needs a job right now, not then, and it doesn’t seem to be happening – then or now. According to The Daily Mail:

Sarah Palin appears to be venting her frustration over not receiving one of Donald Trump’s coveted cabinet spots after supporting the President-elect throughout his campaign. The former Alaska governor and GOP vice-presidential candidate, an early and vocal supporter of Trump since at least 2011, made a series of cryptic posts to social media with screengrabs of other users who were questioning why she had not been drafted into his Cabinet.

Granted. You might say, “Well, she doesn’t have the experience to really lead up a cabinet position, having been a two year governor of a tiny state… ” But then you’re left to explain how it is that South Dakota Governor Kristi Noem will become Secretary of Homeland Security. Actually, when viewed solely as a matter of style, Noem is likely this era’s version of Palin and the woman who is perhaps keeping Palin out of the cabinet. As JMG continues, it has Sarah P upset:

In one Sunday post announcing breaking news of a Trump nominee, Palin posted a screengrab of a text message with someone asking her: ‘What about you?’ to which she replied ‘Thank you.’ In another frame, she posted a selfie looking calm while writing the pointed yet exasperated words: ‘Funny how politics work.’ Palin also posted a rant by one of her supporters that labelled her as ‘Trump before Trump’, wondering aloud why she hadn’t been given any kind of role

From Palin’s X-account.

Kudos to Sarah for posting one of the most clever AI-created spoofs of fantasy – it is fun to pretend, but one wonders whether Donald Trump would like seeing someone post him doing all this:

Now, below – this is really passive aggressive because she isn’t even the one saying that she got him elected, only posting it. But by posting it, she’s adopting it. It is wrong for her to say that she got him elected. To be sure, she certainly helped usher in the movement. She did her job. But he could’ve gotten there without Palin. Still, she posted this – brave because she’s either getting a job for challenging him or left out forever now. All in:

Interesting. Below she’s sort of passive aggressive to the point that she’s aggressive here:

There is still time for Sarah to get a job. She won’t be secretary of the Interior or even deputy of Interior (All good Western governors want the Interior job because it includes management of so many federal lands under BLM, grazing and mining). It is actually hard to imagine a job that she might do well, perhaps head up the National Parks – except damn, those are important. Maybe.

She is certainly advertising that she wants a post. Perhaps if she waits long enough she might be named Secretary of Defense or even Director of National Intelligence, posts that seem to be settled but with obvious problems. She will have to remain patient and maybe a bit quieter and more supportive, less clingy. We will stay scared for her and us.

  1. Sarah Palin as Director of National Intelligence would not just be oxymoronic but actually moronic.

Despite the natural despair at his choices so far, at least he hasn’t picked Palin 2, Ms Boebert, or her frenemy MTG either.

    Yet.

  2. The video with the song “Why Cant We Be Friends” brings up the issue that Biden did extend the invitation to tRump to meet at the White House, prior to inauguration. This is a courtesy that was not afforded to him. So, who’s not trying to be friendly?
