Helpful hint from MurfLouise. Get a f*cking grip. You know what a President is? A lot of hot air in a suit. Remember what the entire United States form of constitutional government is based upon. The Congress passes the laws. The judiciary interprets the laws, and the President enforces the laws. It’s almost a joke. Every year the President, whomever the President may be, proposes a federal budget to the congress. Which the congress promptly wipes its collective ass with, and the House Ways and Means Committee goes into seclusion and creates the bill for the federal budget, which everybody wrangles over.

Here’s the immediate objective. I wrote weeks ago that the most important seat in the government was Hakeem Jeffries seat. If the Democrats can manage to flip the House, which is currently up in the air, but I’m buoyed by the number of CA districts where a hometown girl vote for Harris may put the Democrats over the top, then it’s over for Trump’s first two years. It’s the House that sets the legislative agenda, and if Jeffries is the Speaker, the House will spend the next two years passing a series of populist progressive bills that the GOP Senate will block. A nice contrast to start with.

And even if the GOP wins the House, it won’t really make much difference. If you’re looking at the GOP majority and what they accomplished in 2022, remember that it took them almost two weeks to elect a Speaker. And cast your mind back. In the years of 2017-2018, when the GOP held total power, they couldn’t even manage to do more than name a bunch of post offices, and pass the ridiculous Trump tax cuts. There are just too damn many intransigent factions in the GOP to get anything done. They can’t even pretend to function without a base 20 seat majority.

As I wrote previously, Absence makes the heart grow fonder. A significant block of former trump voters forgot what an obnoxious pr*ck Traitor Tot is. But they’re about to get another full body immersion, whether they like it or not. And protesters are already licking their chops to protest every damn thing he does. The damn National Guard ain’t leaving their bases for peaceful protests, and local law enforcement damn well will ignore any brain dead shoot-to-kill order that Traitor Tot iss.

And what happens less than 22 months after Traitor Tot is sworn in? The 2026 midterms. And I think we all remember what happened in 2018. A 40 seat Blue Tsunami. And if the first two years of the second Trjumpster fire goes the way I think it will, namely a bunch of viruses bumping against each other in a Petri dish, the Democrats could clear 50-60 in 2026. And then the fun really starts, like nonstop Democratic House investigations into all things Trump. The House Democrats will set the agenda, and Traitor Tot will fume and bluster.

So be stout of heart. You’re all fixated on Trump regaining the presidency, but you’re forgetting that the President is the least potent person in the government. For the most part all he can do is to wait for congress to send him sh*t to sign, and make lots of noise. And with El Pendejo Presidente Redux, noise is pretty much all you’re going to get, and it ain’t gonna be Neil Diamond’s Beautiful Noise. Keep punching and keep the faith.

I thank you for the privilege of your time.

  1. Hey, nice pep talk. Reality though, IMHO, is this. The House is going to be R. Even if it is D they have no balls and will fold like a cheap suit. If Biden had a set he would imprison Trump, fire the entire SCOTUS, enlarge it and pack it, declare Marshall Law to save democracy, but although he was a good POTUS he has no balls. He’s letting TFG boss him around already. TFG however will not hesitate. The executive orders are already written, also the bills. They will be passed so fast no one will know what they are. Checks and balances are bullshit. They are gone. Elections are over, because they can put the Orange one in jail. America is finished. The democratic experiment has failed. Nato will be nullified. Putin gets Ukraine, Orban gets Europe, China gets Asia proper, N Korea gets S Korea and Japan. Bibi gets the ME. Australia is undecided. Maybe sooner or later the US will be invaded from both sides with no allies. We may even have WW III, the serial rapist would love that. It may be funny if Merchan throws the SOB in the hoosegow, then we would have a rapist felon POTUS in prison unable to vote running the country into the ground. Only in America, Land of opportunity can this happen.

    • Putin will not “get” Ukraine because the Ukrainians won’t surrender, no matter what deal Trumpler tries to impose. They’re already bleeding the Russian army dry; N Korean troops are there to fill the holes. Orban doesn’t “get” Europe because NATO Europe would crush Hungary like an eggshell and Orban knows it. Now for your fanciful WW3: China doesn’t want war for Asia, it wants to take it economically, ie build its power and get richer. N Korea couldn’t take the South and certainly not Japan. It would be obliterated Day One and its slaves liberated. Israel will survive, not conquer the Middle East. The 2-coast invasion of the USA would be quite a military feat, given the size of the oceans. Or did you mean invasion from Mexico & Canada?

      • Yup, we Canucks are about to invade. Be afraid, Yanks. Are you freakin’ kidding?!
Right now, your neighbours above and below want NOTHING to do with your country. Sorry, you guys are on your own, and rather than invade, trust me on this, we promise to stay far, FAR away!!! The global fear is Environment. Will we have a planet that supports human life in another decade or two? Americans voted “No” on handing their grandchildren a planet that supports human life. Bad. Although I love the irony that people in the places that get hurricanes and twisters all voted for the guy who is only gonna make those things worse and worse. So when they cry they’ve lost everything, ala, my schadenfreude WILL out!!
And Chris, please don’t talk about the Middle East. Your complete ignorance screams through. I am the MOST proudly Zionist Jew you will ever meet in your life and I HATE Bibi with every cell of my being. (By the way, I don’t think you have a clue what Zionist means!). As for Israel “owning” the Middle East, it ain’t ever gonna happen because no one, and I mean NO ONE, has any interest in that whatsoever or in any way. If we wanted to “own” Lebanon, it woulda been done in 1981. End of story. If we WANTED to “own” Gaza, we would NOT have returned it lock, stock and barrel to the Palestinians in 2005. And as for that idiotic “genocide” thing, you HAVE to be stupid AND ignorant to buy into that. If we WANTED to wipe out the Palestinians, we COULD have done it in IN FULL on Oct 8.
We want two things: 1) The Israelis and other Jews kidnapped by Hamas on Oct 7 – we want them ALL back, alive!!!!!!!!!!
        2) We want to make sure when we leave Gaza there will be no Hamas left to EVER do this again. (and if you actually knew anything about what you’re talking about you would KNOW that UNRWA IS Hamas!)
Oh, and another thing about “genocide”.
If you want to blame anyone for it – try Hamas. There was no Genocide on Oct 6. And they are STILL holding our people that THEY kidnapped. Don’t give me the “resistance” bullshit – If Hamas didn’t want their people killed they would return OURS! They are not, therefore think for one teensy second and ask your self if the killing of their people is not part of their (Hamas’) plan.
Oh yeah, and another thing about “genocide”:
        5.5M killed in Congo
        500K killed in Syria
        500K killed in Sudan
        400K killed in Yemen
        300K killed in Iraq
        250K killed in Afghanistan

30-ish thousand killed in Gaza and the world is apoplectic. Now what could the difference be ???????

  2. what chris said. the 2025ers have outright stated that they are not planning to pay any attention to the constitution, the law congress or the courts. and this is their administration not Trump’s. it’s their agenda not Trump’s. it was never about him or for him they just needed someone to get them in the door. they’ll let go wild for a few months because he’s loud, obnoxious and embarrassing and that will distract from the real work going on behind the scenes. once those executive orders are all signed and they’ve consolidated power they won’t need him anymore. or maga. Trump will either be forced to retire or more likely killed. an assassination would be a great excuse for a crackdown. the military, like the Civil service, will be purged of anyone not committed to the cause. as soon as Trump is sworn in this country ceases to be the USA. putin broke the United States, he won. all that remains to be seen is whether he wants the US as a Russian ally or if he’ll just let us rot. it’s a pyrrhic victory because Russia doesn’t have the resources to do much more damage and western Europe will unite to stop them.

now it is just possible that the gop has too many factions and too few not stupid people to pull it off (and by the way, stephen miller is evil but he’s not remotely brainless). the 2025ers have been working a long time to get into power and they’re not going to give it up voluntarily. there won’t be anymore elections for a long time. as always, hope I’m wrong.

    • I figure we will know what we got in the first 2 to 4 weeks. Will have the executive orders that they sign right away and then thereafter if he does the things that he said with arresting the 300 people and trying them for treason and then whether he actually does appoint musk to be the czar of whatever the F he is that would decimate the govt. If he does those things we’re Totally screwed because the man has immunity, he can literally do anything and it’s their intent to crush us, one and all.

  3. The Supreme Court is gone for 50 years. That’s a big deal. The felon rapist gets away with all crimes, setting the tone for the country. It is a profound disappointment that half this country is ok with this.

  4. Within SIX months after Hitler was voted into power, Dachu was being filled with his political opponents. I’ve seen a photocopy of his official decree on who should be arrested…anyone not either a true believer or a person pretending to be a nazi. I personally fall into several categories, but if I didn’t, he had one labeled ‘grumblers’. Well…that’s a clean sweep. I hope you’re right Murf, and you know more about it than I do…but reality has a way of kicking our collective ass when we ignore the danger. As I remember a quote from President Lincoln,(you know…when moral courage ruled), he said he often found himself on his knees with nowhere else to go. I carry that feeling daily. My heart breaks for the little ones. All of them will suffer, and some will be brainwashed to believe in lies. One thing I try to remember, with the help of my own experience as a vet, is how NONE of those boys wanted to be in a war, yet had to time and again endure horror. The least we can do to honor them since a voting majority DIDN’T, is to KEEP FIGHTING. As St.Paul advised: don’t be overcome with evil, but overcome evil with good. Truth will never be ultimately defeated by lies. So I’ll keep rerunning Jimmy Stewart’s Mr. Smith Goes To Washington, where he is exhausted and is confronted in the Senate with bags of paid for opposition letters. He said: I’m going to stay right here and keep fighting for this lost cause even if this room gets filled with lies like these. Yep!

  5. I’m reading all kinds of predictions, ranging from “We’re doomed” to “We’ll get through this!” Here’s the truth: NOBODY knows how this will turn out. Not even the “winners” who are now gloating and intentionally trying to intimidate the rest of us into believing the worst.
Writer Katrina vanden Heuvel once observed that Republicans are great at winning elections, but they’re lousy at actually governing. We’ll see. I realize that facing an unknown future is troubling, but that’s where we are.
In the meantime, let’s focus on what we CAN do. Donate your time and/or money to organizations that work to protect voting rights and civil rights. Turn off the nonsense on mainstream, corporate-owned media, and support independent journalism. Boycott businesses that openly support the GOP.
I want to thank all the writers at Politizoom for giving their honest perspectives. In my view, this is the best of the progressive sites I read.

  6. And lawyers like Marc Elias are licking their chops to go to court and block any bulls*it executive he scrawls his seismograph-like signature on.

  7. In the meantime, think of the parade of losers, grifters, hacks, suck ups, a**kissers and scum that tRump surrounds himself with that we’ll have to endure for the next four years. All incompetent, all with their hands out for the kickbacks, all a stain on our government. I was reminded of this recently with Seema Verma who was head of Medicare for tRump. Normally Medicare sends update letters out to providers to let them know what may be coming up in the future, bare bones, just the facts. However, Verma made these letters odes to tRump and his marvelous handling of the program ad nauseum. Sickening. Which reminded me of the circle jerk cabinet meetings where everyone was expected to praise/fellate the criminal in charge. It’s bad enough we’ve got him back, but all these other wastes of human flesh too? It’s just too cruel.
