Everyone reading this has a massive problem with Donald Trump and the political power that he wields now just when entering a room – ideally never again in the White House. We fear the loss of the Constitution itself given his promise to be a “Dictator for a Day” – on day one – which is plenty of time to sign 90 executive orders which establish a militant and impermeable center of power orbiting his one person. Yes – there is a lot to fear. And yet, some of our anger seems more “pure” when it comes to Trump’s arrogance and psychopathy. There is the Donald Trump who will take a picture of a newly orphaned baby with his “thumbs up.” And the type below. This involves yet another Gold Star family.
According to Google, a “Gold Star lapel pin represents the loss of a service member in combat. It is worn by the families of the fallen military men and women.” These are families that have had to endure the ultimate grief in losing a son, daughter, sister, husband, all of them at too young. By definition, every single official encounter with these families is solemn and respectful. But not with Donald Trump.
Yesterday, during a rally in Pennsylvania, South Dakota governor Kristi Noem introduced some of these most honored guests by saying, according to Rawstory:
“Tonight we have some special guests in the audience. We have a Gold Star family that is with us tonight. Mary and Charles Strange are here, where are they?”
Perfectly suitable, nicely done. Try to search the crowd – not just mention names, to address them specifically.
As the Gold Star parents approached the stage, Trump joked, “It’s a little harder to get up since I got shot. It made it more difficult. Perhaps that’s the way it’s supposed to be.” Noem replied, “Sir, they lost their son Michael.”
On behalf of the country, let me write in a barely perceptible gasp. How can a grown man of any stature – or no stature – not know that when introduced to a Gold Star family at any official function it is about them, and not about “you”?
This is common with Trump. He seemingly has never entered a room in which everything didn’t immediately become about him. The only exception may be the meetings with Vladimir Putin or anyone else that might give him a massive sum of money. Given it is all about him, he can joke lightly about hurting from a miraculous bullet graze across the earlobe as causing him too much pain to get up. This, of course, while sitting beside a family whose son or daughter took a bullet or a bomb to the chest or head.
Again, the single most offensive thing about Donald Trump will always be the people hurt under his tyrannical leadership, including previously loyal employees. But there is also a very real anger that simmers just below for the smaller “rips” in reality and decency. He seems uniquely keen to an opportunity in each room.
Easily done when it’s always all about you.

“How……..?” Because he’s a malignant narcissist that is showing signs of dementia. I actually like that he’s showing who he really is. Noem had to TELL HIM that the Gold STAR family lost their son. He wouldn’t have cared otherwise because he figured they were there to gloat about meeting HIM.
All of the above, however I LOATHE him for just BEING. There is NOTHING socially redeeming about his existence. NOTHING.
OT: I have been screaming for days about Trump campaign saying he will be at Madison Square Garden on Oct. 27 that never seemed to be true. Yesterday, his campaign announced it again and today Bulwark has a big article about it, but it is still info that is sketchy as hell! There are a couple of sites with links to get your 2 free tickets…I have tried to get tickets and each time I get a [500 SERVER ERROR] message. Maybe ’cause I’m TX Democrat or maybe it’s bullshit or maybe an incompetent campaign can’t run a ticket site…take your pick. However, there is also a journalist reporting that on Oct. 27, Trump/Vance is having an major fundraising event. Invitation Only/RSVP with tickets from $5K to almost $1M!! (at the Garden?)!
