We have some delightful video to share with you right now and an even more gratifying theory behind the video. Yes, friends, everybody has turned upon Donald Trump and we mean Every.Body. His wife publicly went on record yesterday as holding a view of abortion rights which is 180 degrees diametrically opposed to the one that he and the GOP espouse, so that’s the conflagration of the moment that Team Trump is trying to put out, 31 days before Election Day. The timing is nothing short of calamitous. Right-wing influencers are chewing on the arms of their desk chairs over this one.
And then there is J.D. Vance, who did a very smooth debate on Tuesday. He was lauded for that debate performance and talk is already taking place of him being the GOP presidential nominee for 2028 or 2032. That’s pretty good for a guy with only two years of government experience but then compared to Trump’s zero years/months or minutes of experience when he ran for president the first time, it’s actually showing improvement on the part of the GOP.
Now here’s where it gets intriguing and where Trump is going to flip. It could allllll be part of a predesigned plot against Donald. Have you thought of that? Maybe The GOP, and Melania, and J.D. especially, don’t want Donald to be president again. They never did. It’s just a way for the plutocrats to get their paid-for boy, J.D. in office. And guess who has put together an ad illustrating how that might very well be the case?

In all seriousness, I think it would be completely naive to think that conversations about this eventuality have not been had. This is hysterically funny, yes, but that’s because it’s so very plausible. Before Caligulia got knifed in the Coliseum, many conversations were had about what alternatives there might be, before that final one was settled on. Luckily for Donald, we are a civilized people with a Constitution which keeps us from resorting to windows and polonium-laced tea as the means for making personnel changes.
You know what they say in poker, if you can’t pick out the patsy in the first 20 minutes of the game, that means you’re the patsy. This is an entirely plausible theory, here, that fits the facts:
- Fact: Trump is unravelling visibly on a daily basis;
- Fact: Trump never could govern and he certainly hasn’t developed any governing acumen in his years out of office. That’s why Project 2025 was drafted;
- Fact: MAGA will vote for Trump not matter what he does and Vance and the other plutocrats intend to capture that voting base;
- Fact: The GOP as a whole is looking towards a post-Trump world and right now it looks like the billionaires have decided to buy themselves J.D. Vance;
- Fact: Vance has proven himself to be lacking in character and vapid;
- Fact: He’s clearly Peter Thiel’s hired gun. That’s the only way he got in the Senate.
- Fact: Project 2025 is the blueprint for how the New America, a post-democratic order, will work, if these people manage to get anywhere near the White House again.
Add it all together. It makes sense. Even if Trump wins, he loses. Unfortunately, if he wins, America goes down the toilet for good this time. Tragic but true. This election isn’t about who will be in office for four years. It’s about whether democracy will still be our system of government or not.
And think about it: Vance could topple Trump early in the game, serve out the rest of Trump’s term and then with the plans he’s already copped to having, “Letting the House fight it out,” and “different slates of electors,” who knows if Vance would ever leave the White House? “Elections” in this country would then be like “elections” in Russia.
This is the stark reality before us. But here’s the silver lining: If Trump sees this, and see it he will, this will be geotargeted — then he’ll implode. Mark my words. This will be the catalyst for a crackup. This will be the proximate cause of Donald’s doom. Trump is already on the hairy edge, pumped up on Adderall, who knows what all, slurring and slumping at the podium, and this will be the decisive blow. He’s already alone, paranoid, and insecure. This will do it.
Great work, Lincoln Project! I can’t wait for your encore!
Hey fascists…I have a question for ya…since all of you were fine destroying 5500 children at the border; and you’ve been peachy keen with the hundreds of CHILDREN slaughtered in our schools by assault weapons; and you sleep well while watching your tinpot dictator piss on the graves of the heroes that allowed you to inherit your trust funds; and YOU are the ones that put 400 million guns on the street, with 25% of the sales being assault rifles; where are you planning to live to be sure some disgruntled patriot who accepts a suicide mission won’t take YOU out? Having worked with every type of person for 50 years, one rule you can hang your hat on…desperate people do desperate things. Might be best to keep the lid on pandora’s box and try to get by on the riches you already have. Otherwise you’ll be living in a world where you’ll need to relocate daily to stay ahead of assassins. Just a thought. Unintended consequences are a bitch.
Jut a quick correction:
Caligula was assassinated in the tunnel between the Palatine Theatre and the Imperial Palace in 39 BC. The Flavian Amphitheatre, aka the Colosseum, (named after the ‘Colossus’ which was a giant statue of Nero) wasn’t built until round about 70 AD
What was he doing there, do you recall? The story I read (decades ago) was that he was watching a sporting match in the Coliseum and he had to relieve himself and was with his courtiers, on his way to the john, and that’s where he was stabbed.
So he was at the theater that night, or what?
Um, Caligula wasn’t alive in 39 BCE. He wasn’t born until 12 CE. (At any rate, he was assassinated in 41 CE. Just to be correct . . . .)
Brain fart at this end – I typoed (badly) regarding the date. I wasn’t thinking (and it’s the ColOSSEum – not the ColiSEUm which wasn’t built for a long time after Cassius Chaerea had enough of insulting passwords being given to him).
The ‘theatre’ was a temporary building alongside Little Boot’s palace – as I said, the Amphitheatrum Flavium (aka the Colosseum) wasn’t built until the time of Titus. Suetonius doesn’t say what the event he was attending actually was

My fear is him having a stroke or being declared incompetent. That is a real possibility considering his age and health and personality. And then we get Vance.
project 2025 already has a slew of executive orders ready to go on day one. as soon as Trump signs the last one he’s expendable. it was never about Trump, it was about any republican who will implement the project.
as far as capturing the maga base, I don’t think that’s possible. they have no ideology, they’re not for anything but Trump as spectacle. yes, he gives them permission to be the worst, cruelest morons that they are but that’s as far as it goes.
I think he meant to capture just for the purposes of this election, to gain access to the oval office.
