According to Mediaite, Lt. Gov. Mark Robinson’s very serious and very creepy issues have been known for the last two years – at least at high levels within North Carolina’s GOP. Such a revelation is almost as stunning as the original breaking Robinson story by CNN about Nazi comments on porn sites. Someone let this guy sit as Lt. Governor despite knowing about the problem for two years. Now it’s very possible that Trump’s handshake and political kiss may sink Trump in the general election.
That is one big deal of some wretched posts on sites that even Trump’s team knew of long before Trump called Robinson “Martin Luther King on steroids.” Interestingly enough, I used to think that Robinson’s troubles should not touch Trump because Trump couldn’t have known about his issues. Except now, it sure looks like he did know. And as such, Trump deserves to hold this North Carolinian anchor to the bottom. As everyone knows, if Trump is forced to hold a massive “pretty pink” state which is now trending blue that bodes poorly for the guy. It sure appears that Trump knew, according to a former Republican Governor Pat McCrory states in Mediaite:
“Well, the fact of the matter is for the past almost month and a half, the Donald Trump campaign has been avoiding him and not letting him on the stage until about two weeks ago when Robinson kind of bullied his way up to the stage… … So I got a feeling about a month ago, the Trump campaign was finding out that there could be some dirty laundry on Robinson. But the fact of the matter is for over two years, most of us knew this was a ticking time bomb.”
You do not want to hold a sinking anchor, nor a Rolex equipped bomb. But Donald Trump has been presented with both, and it’s hard – kind of like deciding whether it’s better to die by shark or by battery. If this was known for two years, why did Republicans not throw this guy overboard back then? Moreover, why didn’t the campaign just release the stuff on Robinson a few weeks ago? He’s totally dispensable as a candidate and the campaign could instead play the hero. Trump could be seen as the hero who outed a Republican.
I mean, this isn’t hard. Donald Trump simply cannot suddenly lose North Carolina’s massive number of electoral voles due to this. But it will be frighteningly close and it could easily flip the national election itself. I doubt that Republicans really thought that North Carolina would be in play. And yet the ex-Gov. McCrory does think it’s still in play for both parties because ABC News 538 puts the difference at Trump… Plus 0.5. Yeah, talk about a lot of electoral votes (16) depending on a very slim margin. You don’t want to be carrying the porn nazi’s baggage going in. Says McCrory:
“It could happen. But North Carolina has a tradition of ticket splitting between the president races and statewide races. And I wouldn’t be surprised if that ticket splitting continues. But again, if it just impacts 5 or 10,000 votes, that could make a difference in all the electoral votes for either Harris or for former President Trump,”
This is a mixed mash of news because the governor is a Democrat but both Senators are Republicans. You figure out what the ticket split would be. He probably means the Democratic governor.
But this race matters big. As far as being this close, I suspect that’s a surprise for both parties. North Carolina gets closer and closer but never seems to go blue. If the state goes blue, the electoral vote shift could be winner-loser. That has to be a bit unsettling.
Who knew that the presidential election would come down to hyper-offensive posts on a porn site? Given that Trump knew of the issue, it would be a well-earned loss of the vote, and his chances, ticked down to go “puff.”
In a southern state, too, by the way. Could things get weirder?

You know, maybe Trump actually had something with the “MLK on steroids” line when you look at Dr King’s PERSONAL life. It’s pretty common knowledge that Dr King did engage in some extramarital affairs so, given what we’ve learned of Robinson’s *personal* life . . . .
Now, the question becomes “Did Trump know about Robinson’s personal foibles when he made the ‘steroids’ comment or was it more likely that Trump’s comment was merely because King was the only influential Black guy that Trump had heard of?”
