Donald Trump is skating on the thinnest ice coming out in anger against one of America’s secular saints, Oprah Winfrey. On Sunday night, as he so often does, Trump unleashed his fury in a long primal scream. He efficiently and thoroughly managed to tie Oprah to his anti-immigrant hatred, the same hatred that festers in the hearts of so many.
It is stunning that this country knows, as a self-proving fact, that immigrants renew its spirit in the equality and dignity of all, and yet reject immigrants and immigration so powerfully now. People whose families link to a long lineage in this country might not look at America in wonderment and appreciation, but often can be seeing in an immigrant’s eyes.
For now, Trump has tapped into nativism so extreme in nature that it leads to immediate fury in too many eyes. It is dangerous to the fabric of our society and though it sounds trite, it’s kind of like Trump’s rejection of Oprah. Many see her as a “favorite aunt” type, for lack of a better expression. Now, to Rawstory for the quotes:

Funny thing, though, it is only recently that Trump the politician mentioned anything about his inner beliefs regarding Oprah. He waited – as if it weren’t there at all – until she opposed him and only then did he explode in anger and let us in on his “core beliefs.” Charging Oprah with “wanting millions of prisoners from mental institutions (Has anyone met one of these people? It would seem to stand out a bit?) and terrorists – even though our most powerful terrorists are home grown, which also applies to drug dealers and traffickers. Anyway, onward to our next reading:

Right, except no because people often want to crawl under a table when hearing from a guy who uses only exclamation marks as acceptable punctuation. Further, though Kamala Harris may have some issues that even we want to discuss, but is unquestionably mentally fit to be president. If only…
Back to our main topic. Oprah’s only sin is coming out against Donald Trump. Wouldn’t it be refreshing to hear a politician saying of an endorsement for the other side: “Well, I strongly disagree with her political beliefs but it doesn’t diminish her talents and gifts… ” Such humility seems beyond Trump’s inner-self. He can’t get there and thus no one gets there.
And yet, Trump has real skill in managing hatred toward immigrants and transferring it to Oprah – his voters listen without question. No doubt, a nation must control its borders and oversee immigration, as Barack Obama once said. But this current hatred isn’t about the legal framework to provide a strong legal foundation for immigration. It’s about dehumanizing people who simply want the American promise.
Isn’t that why immigrants have always come? It most certainly applies to Trump’s grandparents from Germany – what if they had been shut out? Resist the pull of the easy answer, as Oprah has mastered.

His racism and misogyny will bring millions of new voters to the polls. Many will be women. They will tell him in no uncertain terms they aren’t going back!
The immigration problem extends to his wife as well btw! It is such a shame that magats cannot understand that without “immigrants” we have no fresh fruits nor vegetables, fewer processed meats and other foods, and our hotels, motels, restaurants, and many, many other businesses would fail due to lack of help who are willing to do some of the jobs in this country. Can you imagine a white man or woman, or youth, picking fruits and veggies in the hot sun? Can you imagine any white person installing or repairing roofs in the hot Florida sunshine with no water breaks per deathsantis? Those roofs get HOT! No white person would last a day. No AMERICAN CITIZEN would last a day. Probably not even an hour! We need these wonderful people who are so willing to do these difficult jobs for low pay and in the worse conditions possible! We NEED them! I have known many people from South America in the restaurant business and in construction and love them all. Not a bad one in the bunch. They are sweet, hard-working people who want exactly what our, and the magats’ ancestors all wanted – just a chance at the American dream.

Maybe INS should investigate the legal status of the many employees at the various Trump properties. We already know that most of Trump’s MAGA apparel and “souvenirs” were made overseas (much in China) so it wouldn’t surprise me in the least to find out that a sizable percentage of the workers at the Trump properties (especially in the “grunt work” positions like maids, groundskeepers, etc) are probably working without the proper papers.
Not only working without proper papers, but working at below living wages. Just pay them enough so they can’t leave! He’s been using illegals for years in his hotels. At least I have read that from many sources. But who will investigate? I have heard interviews with his employees (now former employees) who spoke up. Orangeman is such a horrid person.
How does (He Who Must Not Be Named) write such cogent missives in clear language with complex sentences and yet can’t connect two words when speaking. Who’s writing these text?????
