Melania Trump is out with a new book and no – not that kind of book. This book is more a story of Melania’s life both before and after the First Lady thing. And, look, if one is coming to hear anyone bash Melania for the nude stuff, you’ve come to the wrong place. There are a billion things one can write in protest about Melania, and I’ve written probably about 200,000 of them, but I’m not doing so with this.
The only questionable question to “this” – the nude modeling work, is why it took her so long to address it. She was First Lady! If she smoked pot on camera it would get analyzed and re-analyzed for some kind of scandal. So, she should have addressed this long ago. It is not like people didn’t know and see. Oh, they saw plenty, but now we’re back to dissing her work as First Lady… In which she still had a tentative grasp of English. Now, that’s just mean. Sorry.
But had she talked about her former career as soon as Trump became the Republican nominee in 2016, it would’ve already been addressed and moreover, it would be boring at that. I am bored anyway. She was a young woman from another country, having a go at a relationship with English, and trying to make it in New York City. I could seriously turn her past modeling into a very well-meaning article. Regardless, Mel now has a $250 book to sell. She sort of had to address her past in order to charge a fortune for just another book.
Anyway, on to Melania’s statement about her modeling, in which she… checks notes… blames the media. In doing so, she has never been more firmly a “Trump.” She makes it sound like she was practically DaVinci’s muse. So, here’s Mel, (X post below) in her own words:
“Why do I stand proudly behind my nude modeling work? The more pressing question is why has the media chosen to scrutinize my celebration of the human form in a fashion photo shoot? Are we no longer able to appreciate the beauty of the human body?
Oh, Mel – if there is one thing that American males can near-universally agree upon these days, it’s the celebration of the human form, usually later at night… Oh, and yes, the beauty of the human body in such a scenario is very much appreciated.
“Throughout history, master artists have revered the human shape, evoking profound emotions and admiration.”
Evoking profound admiration? Probably best to leave that alone. After another toss to artists, she ends with:
“We should honor our bodies and embrace the timeless tradition of using art as a powerful means of self-expression.” – Melania Trump, in yet another video promoting her coming $250 book.
Okayyyy. She won’t get any argument from me. She certainly honors and embraces her body at the spa, no doubt about that. But she won’t entirely get an art pass on this either, precisely because it took hawking a $250 book and get away from the Mar-a-Lago spa, to get her to address it at all. This is eight years a little short and unsurprisingly aggressive. And don’t blame the media, that – too, is your way of powerful self-expression.
She is a Trump. She put off the difficult stuff right up until there was money to it. She can blame the media, but unlike “just arrived, young Melania, she was a sharp and mature woman when she took Donald Trump’s hand to elect him as president. She didn’t blame the media for the victory in 2016.
It is pretty tough to take now. Things change, I guess. I have no problem with her nude modeling, but modeling the media after the fact? Yes, now that is something worth 200,000 columns right there.

Yah, Melania, hooray for self-expression! But, I think part of your problem is that most of us are pretty freakin’ exhausted by Trump self-expression! You’re part of a tribe that self-expresses all over us all day every day! We are drowning in Trump self-expression! Stop! Please! For me, the other part of your argument that rankles is “the beauty of the human form.” My understanding of great nude art is seeing beauty in actual humans the way the are. Skinny, fat, dimpled, healthy, infirm, disabled, splotchy, smooth, in all colors! I’m all for it! But, I just don’t see the Trump tribe actually believing that. Most of ya has spent some big bucks changing your natural beauty and most of you see other people in terms that are not at all beautiful! Ugly is more likely the word that comes to my mind about Trumps…well, after a lot of others!
Yes, and while we’re on the subject – what’s with the cat eyes? The girl in the pics at the head of this article (Melania I presume) is pretty and seems to have regular eyes. The former first lady, whom we’ve seen more than we’d ever bargained for always seems to be looking out at the world thru eye slits.
I have written this a ton of times but if she just laughed at herself and life more, and wore some jeans and a sweater, she would have the country at her finger tips. Instead, she’s always angry about something and always blaming the media. It’s not exactly hard but I would fire my agents if I were her.
250 probably puts it out of most magas price range. and of course all the printed words.

Melee M appears quite articulate in expressing her annoying thoughts in the written word; particularly for a person who has, several times, had an accusatorial finger pointed at her for plagiarising. So, is this $250 tome of hers full of her own iambic pentameter as penned thoughts, revealed in the metric of her own poetic hand, when stripped down, or written by some other silent author?
Remember when Republicans were calling on President Obama to resign because Michelle Obama wore a sleeveless ball gown to a state function?

on further reflection 250 seems like a good number. pretty much no one who can afford to pay that is going to buy the book. on other hand, the rnc and other right wing groups will scoop up a hundred thousand or so copies. that’s a nice nest egg for Melania who is probably smart enough to know that Trump probably isn’t going to be able to pay whatever their prenup says. if he cashes out his djt stock he may be looking at securities fraud and end up losing it all.
From what I gather it’s common for models to do a nude shoot or two. Not porn type posing but if not tastefully done at least trying to avoid a porn/men’s magazine (i.e. Playboy or Penthouse) type feel to it. Melania was just another run of the mill model trying to make it in a tough business and having some nudes in her portfolio is pretty unremarkable. Hell, there are iconic supermodels (off the top of my head Cindy Crawford and Elle McPhereson) who’ve done nude shoots. It’s just not a big deal. I’ve never seen any of Melania’s and only one, maybe two of the “soft-core’ pics (posing ‘sexily’ with another model but still partially dressed) that I didn’t actually go looking for.
When she caught Trump’s eye (or his balls?) the plastic surgery started and she’s as much silicon as she is flesh and blood. At least to me. All she sex appeal/desirability of a really high end mannequin in an exclusive women’s store for very rich people. Ok, some people (not just guys) are into that type of thing. Hey, to each their own (as long as they aren’t harming or forcing anyone else to take part in their antics) as far as I’m concerned. Personally I’ve been someone of more simple tastes for the most part although sure, there’s been a bit of “adventure” now and then.
Anyway this would never have been an issue if she’d simply acknowledge long ago that back when she was modelling like so many others yes, she did some nude/semi-nude shoots. She could have honestly said it was fairly common and except for some of the pervier MAGAs that would have been that. It was her pretense about being above that type of thing that made it into a bigger deal than it should have been. That and the pretense she was a highly successful model on the verge of supermodel status but gave it up to be with Trump. THAT is a load of horseshit. She was just another run of the mill model who was (I know how sexist this sound but will say what I believe) good enough in the sack (or could fake it well enough) to get her “Einstein” Visa.
In the end though if not Melania Trump would have found himself some other struggling model with an accent (he apparently finds that cute) to be his arm candy and Trophy Wife #3. Melania was never anything more than arm candy with a prenup that required her to have sex with him at least a certain number of times each year. And produce ONE child so he could strut around and point to his “hot” wife and wink wink nod nod to the guys about “look at what I’m getting some from.” That’s what she signed up for. And, if she both managed to keep him sated enough and could tolerate him for a certain number of years when it came time for a divorce so he could move on to a younger model (literally) she’d get a nice payout. A nice condo in a ritzy NYC building, another out on Long Islan in the Hamptons and a nice cash payout. The longer the ‘marriage’ ran the bigger they payout.
And you can be sure Trump made sure he got himself multiple sets of her nude pics!
