Trump may be a political imbecile, but he still has a certain level of political cunning. This isn’t Trump’s first rodeo. He had to absorb the slings and arrows of the Clinton DNC in 2016, and again in the Biden DNC in 2020. As phyllo dough thin as Trump’s delicate fee-fees are, he knew enough to have his force shields on full. After all, these were just losers.
And the Kamala Harris Democratic convention didn’t disappoint. In fact, they far exceeded my expectations. They didn’t use cheap slurs and insults Trump could fire back against, instead they used his criminal record to make him look small and cheap. They used his cozying up to dictators and disparaging American military heroes to show his unfitness for office. And they showed his disjointed ramblings to portray him as old and feeble and infirm. But you know what? They were all still Democrats, which means they’re all still losers!
But there was more than a single cut every night in the Democratic convention that invokes Shakespeare’s How sharper than a serpents tooth is a thankless child?Â
Think back to a month ago, Trump’s Imperial Coronation Event. What did he have? A constant procession of angry, empty headed Trombies, slavishly praising Traitor Tot while darkly vowing revenge and retribution against all enemies of the state!Â
But where were a Joe Manchin, or a Kyrsten Sinema, taking the stage to regale the crowd about whan an arrogant, egotistical, dictatorial pain in the ass Kamala Harris was when she was in the Senate. Where were the ADAs and staff members of the District Attorney’s office, talking about what a cruel, vindictive boss she was? Where were former Senate staffers slamming her for her meanness and reverse racism? There were none.
But what happened at the Democratic convention? For four nights there was an almost endless stream of close to a dozen former Trump aides, staff members, confidants, congressmen and state and local officials who just couldn’t wait to take to the stage and tell the world what a totally pathetic, egotistical, petty, piece of sh*t Trump was.
And I’m not talking about low level flunkies. I’m talking about people like Olivia Troye, VP Mike Pence’s former national security expert. Stephanie Grisham, his former Press secretary, and the first staff member to resign on January 6th. The former Lieutenant Governor of Georgia. Six term conservative congressman Adam Kinzinger, who threw his career away to sit on the J6 panel that referred charges to the DOJ against Traitor Tot. Border state Sheriffs that took to the podium to slam Trump’s ignorance and uncaringness about the border. The GOP Mayor of Mesa, Arizona.
And it’s not like these people shuffled up to the podium like defendants at sentencing, regretting their sins in hope of a lesser sentence. No. These people strode confidently to the stage, smiles on their faces. And when they spoke, their faces had an almost savage glee at being able to twist that shiv in Trump’s back. And when they spoke to any undecided or soft GOP and independent voters out there, they touted the abandonment permission structure again, Voting for Kamala Harris doesn’t make you a Democrat, it makes you a patriot!
These were all supposed to be Trump’s people. And now, as he lays there on the carpet at Mar-A-Slobo bleeding, all he can do is to croak, Et tu Stephanie, et tu? Because as former Trump staffers and confidants, their names and faces are well known on FUX News and OAN, and seeing them on regular media, or hearing their words in restaurants and coffee machine conversations gives them veracity.
And don’t kid yourself, serious post Trump acolytes like Grisham, Kinzinger and Bishop are on a mission. Troye had already started an organization called Republicans for responsibility to keep Trump from the White House. Used properly, they can be powerful allies for Democratic candidates, especially Harris and Walz by being lead in speakers at rallies.
Trump was ready for the Democrats to rip him a new one at their convention, and that was fine. After all, nobody in his sphere of influence would be watching. But what he didn’t expect was that former acolytes would be busy taking the stage creating sound bytes for Democratic attack ads. And people will see them. What do you think Trump supporters are going to think about Stephanie Grisham saying that Trump privately referred to his supporters as basement dwellers? And the best part is that he can’t body slam them, or he highlights their comments in the process. Marry in haste, and repent in leisure.
I thank you for the privilege of your time.

Revenge is a dish best served cold. Eh Murf?
