Let’s be square, shall we? Of course we all know that the four-night spectacle we’re watching go down this week isn’t geared towards the brain dead Trombie Nation out there. They’re already beyond all hope. And it’s also not intended for the true believers in the audience in attendance, the ones who knock on doors, assail you in the Walmart parking lot to register to vote, and stop you on street corners, for which they’re rewarded with a pass to the convention. They’re already all in.

No, who these four-day spectacles are aimed directly at is that 10% of mushy Democrats, Republicans, and Independents who will ultimately decide the election. You know, the ones who aren’t bubble wrapped in FUX News, but neither do they OD on MSNBC. In other words, the ones who get independent media, read reputable newspapers, and talk to other ordinary, sane people. Not me, in other words.

And the more I watch this Democratic convention, the more I see that there’s a subliminal message at work here. I wrote previously that one of the things I was looking forward to was a good percentage of the speakers savaging Trump just to get under his phyllo thin skin and drive him insane in the media. But after two nights now, I am starting to see that there is a deeper message in some of the speakers insults of Traitor Tot.

There’s an old saying, “Absence makes the heart grow fonder.” Not with His Lowness. We could put El Pendejo ex Presidente onto a rocket, fire him up, and land him on a meteor to circle the universe endlessly, and it wouldn’t make anybody think more kindly about that walking diaper stain. But what time and absence does do is to kick in the brain’s natural self defense to gloss over and shield unfortunate memories.

And that’s what the Democrats are tackling in a cold, impersonal way in this convention. After January 6th, Trump was banned from most social media, other than his POS Bullsh*t Social. And even though he announced his candidacy almost immediately after getting off of his last trip on Air Force 1, the media ignored him, since it was four years to election day, and Trump wasn’t campaigning anyway.

But it served a useful purpose for Trump. Two in fact. First, it allowed him to put nipple clamps on his bovine supporters and start drawing out all of the lovely, lovely deep green. Second, it allowed the majority of Americans, sick to death of almost five years of sexism, racism, misogyny and hatred to scrub their heads of everything Trump with the help of a couple of gallons of brain bleach. Which means that minds have fuzzed as to just how bad the four years of the Trump presidency have been.

Which is what the Democrats are addressing in this convention. There are two lines of attack, personal jabs and a reminder of those four years. First, a few of my favorite personal insults;

  • In his speech last night, congressman Jamie Raskin of Maryland thanked the city of Chicago for the beautiful weather, and followed up with On Capitol Hill, it isn’t so much the heat, it’s the stupidity
  • AOC blistered Trump by saying, People tell me I should go back to being a bartender. I have no problem with that, there’s nothing wrong with earning an honest living. Something Donald Trump should try sometime!
  • Earlier tonight Michelle Obama drilled Traitor Tot with, wait y’all! I wanna know something. What makes Trump think that the job he’s running for isn’t a black job?
  • The woman running for Senate in Maryland nailed Il Douche with, Donald Trump only knows how to hold onto two things. A grudge and a golf club!

All of that is all well and good, and I can only imagine Trump grinding his molars and venting his spleen on anybody unfortunate to get within range of him. But the second category is the more important one for the Democrats purposes.

The second line of attack is a crash course in Trumpism 101. A reminder of the voices of screaming toddlers as they were ripped from their mothers arms at the southern border. A reminder of Trump’s gleeful ownership of overturning Roe v Wade, J.D. Vance’s refusal to even show up to work to vote on protection of IVF. Former Trump Press
Secretary Stephanie Grisham telling the crowd that in unguarded personal moments, he referred to his own supporters as basement dwellers, and while the bodies were piling up in emergency rooms, Trump was pissed that the cameras weren’t on him.

In other words, everything we had to suffer through for four long years that taught us what an insufferable racist pr*ck Trump was. And why the voters fled like rats from a sinking ship in 2018, 2020, and 2022. It is a much needed cold water douche for the national consciousness, because it is the nature of the beast that we once again face.

I pray to God that the next two days go like the first two. And I pray to God that once the convention is over, Harris and Harris campaign Super PACS continue to hammer that message home. Because it is the legacy of Trump and Trumpism. And in the hallowed words of the Jews regarding the Holocaust, Never Forget.

I thank you for the privilege of your time.

  1. It wasn’t part of the convention, but Tim Walz saying that Trump treated the states like it was the hunger games for life saving equipment during the height of the pandemic. Someone tonight mentioned that 8,000 Americans were dying daily when traitor tot left office.
