More fallout from last night’s universally acknowledged fiasco that was Elon Musk’s obsequious Twitter Spaces interview of Donald Trump landed with a bang this morning when the United Auto Workers filed charges against both of the fascist running dogs with the National Labor Relations Board over their broadcast remarks threatening workers who strike with dismissal, which violates Federal law. Trump praised Musk for firing workers in the past for advocating going on strike saying:
”You walk in, you say, You want to quit? They go on strike, I won’t mention the name of the company, but they go on strike and you say, That’s OK, you’re all gone. You’re all gone. So, every one of you is gone.”

Metro Times of Detroit has the story:
“The United Auto Workers (UAW) union has filed federal labor charges against former President Donald Trump and billionaire Elon Musk, accusing them of attempting to intimidate workers who engage in legally protected activities, such as striking.
The charges come in the wake of a rambling, disorderly conversation between Trump and Musk on the social media platform X, formerly known as Twitter.
On Monday evening, Trump and Musk participated in a live audio discussion that was marred by technical difficulties but managed to attract more than a million listeners. During the conversation, both men appeared to advocate for the illegal firing of workers who participate in strikes.
“I mean, I look at what you do,” Trump said to Musk. “You walk in, you say, ‘You want to quit?’ They go on strike, I won’t mention the name of the company, but they go on strike and you say, ‘That’s OK, you’re all gone. You’re all gone. So, every one of you is gone.’”
Fiery Sean Fain, the UAW President, who has been on a tear this year seeking to make Trump’s life a living hell, minced no words when asked to comment on the matter:
“When we say Donald Trump is a scab, this is what we mean,” Fain said. “When we say Trump stands against everything our union stands for, this is what we mean. Donald Trump will always side against workers standing up for themselves, and he will always side with billionaires like Elon Musk, who is contributing $45 million a month to a Super PAC to get him elected. Both Trump and Musk want working-class people to sit down and shut up, and they laugh about it openly. It’s disgusting, illegal, and totally predictable from these two clowns.”
Hear, hear, Sean.
We cannot be sure what the ultimate outcome from this suit will be and whether it was truly filed in the hopes of punishing Trump and Musk for their scabby ways or just to bring wider attention to their remarks.
In either case, I am proud offline and the UAW for taking the two union busters on.
Speaking of standing up for a cause the UAW dropped this ad the other day:
Holy shit.
UAW just dropped this ad destroying Republicans and their corporate overlords.
It’s epic.

Well done, Mr. Fain.

Two clowns alright only not the funny kind. More like the pennywise type.
They are a paid or ASS clowns.
They are ass clowns, you’re right about that. I wish Pennyfarthing was also on your staff of writers-he’s a hoot and I’d never heard of ass clowns before he started using it. I mean, it might have been used before but he made it popular with me. lmao
As we’ve seen over the years this pair of ass clowns are not funny. Not in the slightest.
If that’s Trumpler the Scab laughing during this obnoxious conversation about illegal firing of workers, then I believe it’s the only time I’ve ever heard him laugh. As for the other scab, he laughs for sure and thereby cements his status as world-class scumbag. What a pair: all that money and nary even a tiny hint of humanity between them.
Money can’t buy class or human decency. It can however reveal it, or in the case of Trump and Musk the LACK of either trait.
PLEASE STOP LINKING TO $HITTER!
I get the sentiment. I really do. From the time I first heard of it I though the whole concept of Twitter was asenine. I still feel that way. However like or not it’s part of the fabric of things. I hate that Fox News and even worse outlets exist. However, much as I dislike doing to I feel there’s no choice to sometimes check out the goings on. Pretending the KKK was defeated didn’t make it so but so many refusing to subject themselves to at least a dose of White Nationalist hatred just allowed them to grow and become more emboldened to openly say and do what they do.
I think of long ago days and certain tasks that flat-out sucked but were necessary. For example back on active duty annual gas-mask recertifications. Having to head into a room filled so much CS (tear gas) gas you had trouble making out someone more than a few feet away. Just on your skin and clothes the gas crystals were uncomfortable but having to inhale even a single breath of it flat out sucked. Believe me it made practicing donning and clearing a gas mask rapidly and properly AND on the first try worth making sure you could do. In part because that same mask could literally save your life if an attack using something far worse materialized. Like a nerve agent.
Again, it sucks but it’s necessary. Cleaning and disinfecting a wound hurts worse than the wound sometimes does if left alone (at least for a while – before it gets infected) but I’ll be you have understood the need for it. So it is with twitter sometimes. You don’t have to like it but sometimes you should see it. AND that some folks on there try to fight the good fight and push back against what it’s become. They deserve out support instead of criticism. If you can’t bring yourself to look then don’t. But I respectfully ask you and others to refrain from this kind of criticism.
There is too much good content there to just cut and tun and leave it to the likes of Musk. I suppose it could get so bad I can’t take it anymore but it ain’t there yet.
You have the gastronomic fortitude that approaches the level of Iron Guts.
The thing about Twitter is where else can you read Charles Pierce’s thoughts on the curling match in the exact moment he formulates them or Mary Trumps outrage with her shitbird uncle in real time? The thing that has always fascinated me about it, since I first encountered it reading the tweets of the kids of Iran’s Green Revolution posting the whereabouts of the cops is that it is instantaneous.
