The Leastest Show On Earth is getting ready to start up on Monday in Milwaukee. The Republican National Committee released its roster of speakers and guess whose wife is not on it? You guessed it. Melania Trump will not be at the podium, either with plagiarized material written and originally delivered by Michelle Obama or with anything written by anybody. Junior, Eric, Lara, and Kimberly will go up and speak on behalf of Dad or Dad-in-Law or Dad To Eternal Fiancé but Donald’s better half — at least for now — will not get up and speak. Will she be there at all? According to the Associated Press, she will be there. Evidently Trump could afford her appearance fee, but not her appearance and speaking fee. So what is he worried about? Now, as to Donald’s worries. A lot of people have speculated it’s divorce time. And The Independent has a piece up now outlining Trump’s first two marriages and how this next one could go down. Trump’s situation is pretty complicated. Melania renegotiated their prenupt most recently when Trump’s reelection bid and mounting legal bills necessitated such an action.
Melania was able to plausibly delay her move to Washington, D.C. when Barron was a child but now her claims of being a “hands-on mother and First Lady” are ringing a little ridiculous since the kid is now 18 and headed to college. Simply, Melania won’t be in Washington in the event of a Trump victory because Melania doesn’t want to be in Washington.
In 2006, the year after his marriage to Melania, Trump told New York magazine that his prenuptial agreement had made his third marriage stronger. Trump claimed at the time that his two previous wives contested their agreements and lost.
“It’s a hard, painful, ugly tool,” the then-future president said. “Believe me, there’s nothing fun about it. But there comes a time when you have to say, ‘Darling, I think you’re magnificent, and I care for you deeply, but if things don’t work out, this is what you’re going to get.’”
He added at the time that the prenup process can act as a way to foresee if the marriage will last – if the couple can make it through, the marriage may have a chance.
That’s the basic premise upon which these prenups are calculated. But that’s not what has Donald worried sick and losing sleep. The concept of spousal privilege and losing that privilege is what has him fondling ketchup bottles at night and wondering whether to throw them. And you’d be worried, too, if you had three criminal trials coming up and an impending divorce. Melania may have Donald by the cojones.
Any divorce could also jeopardize Trump’s criminal proceedings. Trump’s sentencing for his 34 felony convictions in New York has been delayed until at least September, and he faces criminal proceedings in Washington, DC, and Georgia for his attempt to overturn the 2020 election and in Florida for his alleged mishandling of classified documents.
The spousal privilege protects communications made in confidence in the course of a valid marriage and removes the possibility that a spouse would have to testify against the other in criminal or other proceedings. Both spouses have the right to invoke the privilege to avoid having the testimony go ahead. But that privilege ends with a divorce.
While the communications privilege in general will survive a divorce, any communications after the end of a marriage will not be shielded.
The spousal privilege also doesn’t apply if the spouses are suing each other in civil proceedings or if one starts a criminal case against the other.
This is something worth thinking about. Melania will be present at the convention, so that’s a plus, and one that was heavily negotiated I’m sure. But if he should win reelection, God forbid, Melania will not be a real First Lady — not that she ever was, but at least she was physically living in the White House and going through the motions. That will not happen again.
And if Trump loses, which is the probable outcome, if all the financial ducks are in a row and Melania has negotiated the best possible outcome for herself and Barron, then consider her gone. I don’t think it’s too cynical to speculate that Melania would already be gone but for the election. Expect her to be basically invisible except for when Trump is officially nominated and there’s a family picture taken. Then she’ll be gone, possibly for the rest of the election.
This could well be Melania Trump’s swansong. Good.

Barron showed up at one of von shitz’ hate rallies. He’ll be at the convention, so mommy will also be there to ensure he gets paid for whatever he decides to do/say. That is the reason she is there. How about adding to the conspiracy theory, with tongue firmly in cheek? Maybe melanoma decided to take out her husband and couldn’t afford to hire someone with more than a BB gun lol? Most likely the divorce will.be held up.until.the.trials are over. She is being paid not to testify. Expect her to.move to NYC to be close to Barron who is possibly going to NYU.
