Get ready for it, folks. You are now going to live through yet another Orwellian chapter of American life and this one’s going to be worse than ever. The Republican party requires you to ignore the evidence of your eyes and ears because that’s the only way they can survive. Not since the mid-1800’s has gaslighting on this level taken place. Back then, men would light the lamps in the street to allow civilization to take place past sunset. This gaslighting is geared to ending the civilization that we know. Here’s Donald Trump’s nothing burger of a four and a half minute *press conference* where he took no questions. So it’s a safe space appearance, and not a press conference at all. Get used to that, too.

Nothing of substance was said and “unity” and “common sense” were repeated twice. For which we are grateful. And I’m sure the rest of the GOP is as well. Trump could have talked about sharks and boat batteries. At least today he was near an ocean, not like last week when this shark menace in his mind was expressed to dwellers in the Mojave Desert. So that was the play and here is the review of the play. Are you ready?

If that was electric, please don’t show me meandering and dull. I don’t think my mind can take it. Marshall opened up a can of worms with that descriptor. He’s going to spend a lot of time living it down. Not a good image.

Things could be that simple. And here are noteworthy clips of the GOP officially selling its soul. These are the last days of the Republican party, folks. They had numerous chances to pull out of the nosedive but no, they have decided that the plane really isn’t going to crash, that somehow it’s going to turn into a lighter than air balloon and soar them all collectively to great heights. Look sharp, now. These are what your descendents will be watching clips of in history class some day.

Sanctimony and somnambulism. That’s today’s GOP MAGA party. They’re collectively walking over the cliff — or “rowing” over a cliff, let’s use Marge Greene’s nomenclature — and they’re oblivious to that fact. They’re just going to rally behind the convicted felon, once again, but this time they’re going to get a different result. Don’t even bring up that definition of insanity. Not to this crowd. They know, They bee-leave. They see the future. They’ve got their right-wing media seers channeling Gawd and telling them how all this is going to turn out. Pssst….I can tell you how it’s going to turn out. It’s going to turn out like it did in 2022, 2020 and 2018. That’s how. Things haven’t changed for Trump except to get worse. He wasn’t a convicted felon or an adjudicated rapist in 2020. He is now.
