When listening to Donald Trump’s latest maudlin mewling outside the courthouse I thought of the movie, A Christmas Story, of all things. Why? Because in that movie, Ralphie, the 10-year-old protagonist, lives in his fantasy world where he is omniscient and everything goes his way. He’s the hero. Until reality brings him back down to life and he’s just a kid in Indiana playing kick the can or throwing snowballs. Trump is like that now. He’s showing us the fantasy in his mind, where he is the victim of a vast conspiracy originating at the White House, and snaking its way through the judicial system and tormenting blameless him. But, he assures us at the end, he’s started leading in the polls the past two weeks, so he’s the conquering hero, still.
That’s Trump’s take on all this, which we’ve all heard ad nauseum. He’s blameless, he’s pure as the driven snow, and the victim of a conspiracy. But his maudlin Mother Teresa crack got Twitter going into tilt mode.

My spidey sense tells me that Rubio just hit a homer. He’s now in Trump’s good graces because this is what Trump wants in a running mate, somebody to co-sign his insanity and make him the martyr. Watch and see if this doesn’t generate some mojo in Rubio’s favor.

Did you ever stop to think about the people who keep supporting Trump and what THEIR families did in WW2? It’s great that you know these people who fought and all but, guess what? It doesn’t explain why more than 75 MILLION people voted for Trump in 2020.
Also, here’s something for you to digest: Trump’s greatest level of support in 2020 was from people over 50. The 50-64 age range backed him by 52-47 and they comprised 30% of all voters. The 65 and up backed him by the same 52-47 margin and they comprised 22% of all voters.
Whites aged 60 and older supported Trump by 57-42 (they were 26% of all voters).
And among VETERANS, Trump won by 54-44 (15% of all voters).
