There was good news and bad news in a recently released poll dealing with voters perceptions of Donald Trump going into the 2024 election. And even though the numbers seem positive on the face of it, I’m more worried now than I have been in months.
This was a nationally recognized poll, though the name slips my feeble mind at the moment. And it wasn’t some piddly ass poll either, their samploe size was more than 4000 respondents, a much larger than normal sample. And here are the two major takeaways that they found;
- In the poll, 59% of respondents said that they either fairly or strongly felt that Traitor Tot would at least try to end democracy and create a dictatorship with him at the helm. This is good news, since at least on Earth One people are comprehending the risk to our very way of life that Traitor Tot poses
- That being said, 53% of respondents were still willing to risk it, feeling that His Lowness was better equipped to handle inflation than Biden
What. The. F*ck! Almost six in ten respondents admit that they believe that Trump will try to install himself as a dictator is he is elected in 2024, yet they’re willing to risk our 248 year experiment in self governance if Trump can bring the cost of eggs down at the grocery store by $0.50 a dozen? After the Supreme Court overturned Roe v Wade in 2022, these idjits took to the streets at the thought of their children growing up with fewer constitutional rights than they had, but if Il Douche can get bread down to $1 a loaf, they’ll gladly give up all of their children’s constitutional rights? And these aren’t Q-Anon misfits, they’re everyday respondents.
And they’re living in a selectively self delusional world. The 24/7, 365 cycle of sturm und drang of the Trump presidency makes it easy to forget some simple, empirical, mathematical facts;
- Trump inherited the best economy from Obama since any President since Bill Clinton handed George W Bush a budget with a surplus
- Trump browbeat the Federal Reserve Board to slash interest rates to 0% in order to enrich corporations, but leaving the Fed with no tools in their toolbox to deal with possible inflation or a recession
- It was Trump who signed a $3 billion tax boondoggle for the rich, exploding the deficit, and risking a recession
- It was Trump who had the worst job creation record of any President sine they started keepoing numbers
- It was Trump who, from day one, who totally bungled the Covid response, and set in motion the slide into a national disaster that he would hand over to Biden on January 20,2021
- It was Biden that engineered the federal response to Covid, weathered a national lockdown, and the resultant supply chain disruption and in less than two years brought inflation down from a high of 10.2% to 3.4%
Trump sold The Big Lie well. For four long years, he was omnipresent at the bully pulpit, extolling the strength of the stock market, which actually boosts few middle class Americans as wages stagnated and their purchasing power dropped. Worse yet, Trump’s 0% Fed interest rate induced people to spend more than they could afford, making them susceptible to personal economic problems in any economic slowdown.
It was Biden who initiated the pro labor, bottom up, middle out economic policies that saved the day. And funnily enough, it was Trump himself, through his incompetent handling of the Covid crisis who created the pro worker environment coming out of Covid, when major companies were desperate to get back up to full strength, and workers finally realized that they had options. This led to major service corporations like box stores and fast food providers to raise their salaries far beyond what they wanted to.
Look, I get it. The Trump term was such a sh*t show that nobody who doesn’t cover this sh*t for a living could make any sense of it, so they simply keyed on the fact that gas was low, groceries were cheap, and their 401k was going up. And as a result, they were willing to use Covid as a reason to give Trump a pass when everything went to hell in a handbasket.
All of that being said, this is what terrifies me. The vast majority of these people crew up with a quality free education provided by the government k-12. They have clean air and water provided by government regulations. They have worker safety regulations provided by the government. They travel on roads and highways built by and maintained by the federal government.Federal employees keep them safe when they fly. And if they don’t like the way that things are going, they have the right to vote for somebody who will represent them better.
- And this is what terrifies me. Over the price of a dozen bagels, or some stew meat, these pathetically mistaken special snowflakes are ready to throw away every benefit they grew up under for their children and grandchildren. Let’s just look at a few;
- If one of your kids spouts off on social media with a post negative against Trump or the regime, you could get a knock on your door at 3 am from authorities coming to take your child away as an enemy of the state
- If you make an offhand comment at work with negative connotations about Trump or the regime, and the wrong person hears it, you could lose your job because the boss doesn’t need the hassle of attracting government attention
- If you’re a Jew, or a Muslim, or even a catholic, be careful how you practice your faith, since these crypto fascists want to turn White, Evangelical protestant faith as the national church in America
- If you’re a 2nd generation Hispanic American, born in the United States, you may not want to leave your house to go to work. Because they’re going to round up 11 million of you and send you back where you came from, the ultimate joke in bad taste. Comedian Trdd Goxx once quipped, You want to send me back where I came from? Send me to south St. Louis. But you won’t have that option
- If you’re black, and an innocent black motorist is killed at police hands, think twice about protesting. You could be confronted by National Guard troops, with shoot to kill orders
Is any of this breaking through? We’re talking about our democracy here, the very system of government that guarantees the civil rights that you’ve benefitted from! And if he is elected, Trump will take away every last one of those rights, and more I haven’t even mentioned.
Let me make this crystal clear and simple. Right now in the United States, there are millions of people who donate $19 a month to the St. Jude Children’s Cancer Research Hospital. And millions more that donate to the Shriners Children’s Hospital. And the vast majority of them don’t make any more money than you do. So, here’s the question. What price are you willing to pay to ensure you’re freedom, constitutional rights, and way of life. It’s really just that simple. Time to put up or shut up.
I thank you for the privilege of your time.

Let’s come up with a plan to get out the vote. PZ readers organize. The more people that vote the defeat of Tiny Thumbs dictator the better.
Find the cost of freedom buried in the ground…Crosby Stills Nash and Young
A nation of half educated traitors…great.
The fools who vote for Trump because they’re so upset at high prices will only find they’ve been turned into even bigger fools as Trump does NOTHING to bring down those high prices.
Have these morons not gone to a gas station and seen a sudden increase of 10-20 cents a gallon overnight for no seeming reason (check into it deeper and “Well, there’s a disruption in getting oil from the Middle East and, even though none of that oil will even be refined into gas for 6 months or more, we’ve just *got* to raise prices now” or “Well, there’s a big hurricane barreling down at our Gulf drilling platform and it’ll hit the refineries about a week after that so we’ve got to raise prices *now* to avoid raising them later”) but, after the “crisis” runs its course, the prices drop by a penny or two every three to four days but they never seem to make it back down to the earlier price for nearly a month–just in time for ANOTHER “crisis” to jack up prices.
A couple of days ago when I saw some local stations’ prices jumping about a dime to fifteen cents, I was wondering why the price hike before I remembered this is Memorial Day weekend. It used to be that stations waited until the Thursday before a Monday “travel” holiday before jacking up prices but, I guess they’re now doing it even earlier to ensure maximum profits without being so obvious.
Well gas got to 3.05 (slowly very slowly from 3.39🤔) and then in a few days … gee right back. Folks whine about that 10% hike while buying beer everyday in their $30-40k suv or brand new pickup… and shoveling bbq . But. Biden!!! Folks are either venting or just want to burn it all down and let some azzhat bankrupt “builder”… rebuild USA.🤦🏻♂️
“Trump tried to overturn a free and fair election” is apparently too abstract for people, or they don’t believe the election was fair. So the media needs to quit harping on this!
Try, “Trump was willing to let his Vice President get killed. Trump was willing to let members of Congress get killed. He watched as police officers were beaten and attacked, but he did nothing to stop the violence.” These are indisputable facts. It is an outrage that so many Americans choose to excuse or ignore these facts. Democrats need to remind voters every chance they get.
excellent suggestion.
Excellent article, Murph! I will be forwarding this to a number of people and posting in my social media. This is special because I haven’t posted hardly at all since Biden won the election against tRump. But your article speaks to those who think Joe Biden isn’t “their” choice. THERE IS NO CONTEST THIS TIME!!! It’s simple: vote for Biden or burn it all down. And if you stay home and don’t vote, well, THAT’S A VOTE FOR “BURN IT ALL DOWN!!!” Thanks again for this wonderful article!
