Matt Gaetz unleashed some kind of hellish force. He didn’t just unseat his enemy, Kevin McCarthy, he threw a monkey wrench into the wheels of government. Things are getting surreal, if we are to believe what Ken Buck says, and MAGAs issuing death threats is not unusual. How credible those death threats are is the question. Buck can now join Mitt Romney, Anthony Fauci and any number of people who have had to hire armed security to protect themselves in the era of Trump.

This is why poll workers have quit their jobs, this is why a lot of lawmakers have resigned. There was a freshman Representative from Ohio, Anthony Gonzalez, who was a moderate Republican who many people thought had a bright future. He didn’t choose to run for reelection because of threats coming his way for taking a stance against Donald Trump. He voted to impeach Trump, which was the honorable and correct thing to do, and then all hell broke loose. He decided politics was not for him.
When you have good people leave a profession for any reason, then people who are not so good will enter the profession. The caliber of Republicans in both the House and Senate has sharply dropped in the past seven years. Was there ever a high school dropout in the House before Lauren Boebert came on the scene? Louie Gohmert was long regarded as the dumbest member of the House but he was a lawyer and had even been a judge at one point. Gohmert may have been frightening talking about stopping climate change by altering the orbit of the moon but not as frightening as somebody who flunks the GED three times and then becomes a lawmaker.
Look at Tommy Tuberville. The entire world is gawking at the spectacle of that clown stonewalling our military. Look at who else ran last election, Herschel Walker and Mehmet Oz. Kari Lake is up for a Senate run and she got the endorsement of old school Republican John Barrasso the other day. I don’t even want to speculate why he saw his way clear to endorse Lake.
This is disturbing. I’d say that the inmates are running the asylum but that’s the problem. They’re not. They can’t. And since they can run the institution, they see fit to burn it down.
Strange……..and yet not a peep from Republitrash when Dems and other non Republitrashers are threatened by their pet MAGAtards.
These pigs should be publicly horse whipped on the steps the Capitol and expelled for the common good…..anything else is less than justice.
