The “communist Democrats in Atlanta made a mugshot” of Donald Trump, he tells the world on Truth Social. But he’s going to show them, he’s going to make money with it. Okay. We’ve certainly seen this show before. What is astounding here is not this latest grift. Not in the least. Trump has been hawking MAGA merchandise since the very beginning. What is stunning is that America has fallen to such a depth, where this huckster, this P.T. Barnum wanna be, this trash-TV maestro, is in fact the leading candidate for the GOP nomination in 2024. The Grand Old Party is not looking so grand right now. Nor has it for sometime.

The tee shirt hawking is probably going to get Trump another 20 million bucks. We are truly witnessing a situation in American history which is simply beyond belief and that has been the case since 2015. We’re talking eight years of living in an alternative reality.

Trump is indeed a cult leader and the cult loves to give him money. The maximum donation that one can give a political candidate is $3,300 and the MAGAs give Trump more. Some of them donate more than one time a day to Trump, if you can believe that. It’s some kind of a deranged rite, communion done with plastic and ATMs. If money is given to Trump — and I’m guessing — then one feels closer to him and a part of what he represents, which is complete anarchy.

But many of the Trump flagged by the FEC seem to have a Trump donation addiction, of sorts. For example, a man identified in federal records as John Duerst made a dozen small-dollar donations to Trump’s campaign on a single day. Coupled with other contributions, Duerst eventually exceeded the federal contribution threshold.

Accepting some level of excessive contributions — and having the FEC call them into question — isn’t unusual for a big-dollar presidential campaign, be it Republican or Democrat.

But this isn’t the first time Trump’s campaign has gotten a warning from the FEC for contribution overages. Last month, the campaign received a letter about hundreds of excessive contributions — with one donor making 361 separate contributions to the campaign, Raw Story reported.

I don’t know why anybody would give cash like this to a billionaire with a gold toilet and a private jet. It is a cult. The best I can do by way of understanding it, is that the MAGAs love Trump because he gets away with everything, as they wish they could. He’s one of them, insofar as being uneducated and uncouth. Trump is deplorable on steroids and the underbelly of America identifies with him. And they want to overthrow the government, too, and have him reign in some version of Idiocracy gone fascist.

They honestly think that’s a better way for us all to go, because they don’t know what they would be throwing away if we lose democracy in this country. Plus, the sublime irony of all of this, is that Trump doesn’t give a rat’s ass about any of the MAGAs. If anybody looks down on them, he’s the one doing so.

But they love being used, they love being in his thrall. The closest thing to this in my lifetime is Jim Jones doling out the kool-aide. That was beyond comprehension then and so is this, now.

  1. Dude, if that were my mug in that mug shot, I’d be hiding the damned thing rather than showing it up. I mean, it’s pretty f*cking stupid looking. A picture may be worth one thousand words but that one only says “I’m trying to look like a bad-ass but I’m a sniveling little coward and I’m pissing myself every day we get closer to trial time”.

    • Yeah, but man, Trump’s got the likes of Jesse Watters saying he looked “hard” and Roseanne Barr said he looked “hot.” I’d say imagine those clowns in a three-way but I don’t want you to lose your breakfast. :))

And Geraldo Rivera can join them and then it can be a foursome in Al Capone’s vault.

    • It’s the Communists, Fash-ists, Marx Brothers, John Lennon or somebody. Who can keep it straight? Besides, what kind of ratings did any of them get?

  2. I think I see another reason (besides avoiding prison) for him to run for president.
It’s really his only source of income. Take away his ability to grift and he’s penniless.
His properties are most likely leveraged to the max and due to years of “cooking the books”, he probably has more outstanding loans against them than they are actually worth.
He can’t sell them off since he owes more than he could get.
Like trading up cars every year and rolling the new one into the existing note.
To that end, his only option to keep a roof over his head, might be in a cell.

    • There was a journalist years ago who thought that Trump might actually be worth about 50 or 60 million and that’s it. His theory was along the lines of what you’re talking about, that all the properties were leveraged to the hilt and if you unraveled it all, what looked like billions was actually a mountain of debt.

Look at the scam he pulled with Truth Social and the shell company, his SPAC, whose name is DWAC. And now DWAC can’t find an auditor and they can’t stave off the SEC forever. I predict Truth Social will go the way of Trump Steaks, Trump University, et al., by the end of the year.

  3. Some people like sex by being tied up, whipped, debased, and with a rubber ball stuck in their mouth. Sorry…I was talking about Kevin the ‘speaker’…although with Margie brandishing the whip I doubt anyone can understand him. Maybe the Maga crowd is following their leaders? Back to baby huey…I do think Natasha looks like a stern dominatrix…and there’s the unresolved urine incident in his motherland Russia. There are a multitude of theories, and, like ghouliani, I don’t have any proof, but I am full of opinions!
    Here’s something that might help:
Mad Hatter: “Why is a raven like a writing desk?”
“Have you guessed the riddle yet?” the Hatter said, turning to Alice again.
“No. I give up,” Alice replied: “What’s the answer?”
” I haven’t the slightest idea,” said the Hatter.
Maybe the clueless find comfort clumping together to follow the King of the Clueless. Beats me.

    • Cult leaders have success for different reasons. A friend of mine in L.A. met a guy named Vernon Howell when he came to buy a stereo she had advertised for sale in the 80s. He had a place in Waco, Texas. He later changed his name to David Koresh and the place burned down. He offered my friend a “great place to live, with great people, away from all the crap,” and near as I can tell, Jim Jones had the same spiel. Trump’s spiel is that he’s going to change America back into something it never was and all the a-holes like him will reign supreme. Or something. I would be lying to you if I said I understood Trump’s appeal but I know a lot of it is that he gets away with things the MAGAs only wish they could. They may soon find out that he can’t get away with murder like he said he could. And at this point, murder is one of the few crimes he hasn’t been indicted for. Although he did commit it, with his COVID incompetence. So we have a murderer, rapist and thief many times over running for POTUS.

If you had told me when I was a young child (1950s) that there would one day be some invention called the laptop and it would be like a typewriter with a TV screen attached and I would write a sentence like that, I would have just stared at you. But here we are. This is all quite normal.
