Harry Reid once said that politics had a “feral side” to it. Likewise, John McCain commented, “This isn’t a nice business we’re in.” They were both old warhorses who got into politics young and stayed in the game until death them did part, after having risen very high in Washington power circles. They knew their chosen profession for what it was and saw it with clear eyes, the beneficial and detrimental aspects, both.
But even those two luminaries never saw anything even remotely like Donald Trump and his brand of feral or not nice. Feral particularly applies to Trump, because that’s about the only way his level of incivility descending to the level of inhumanity would make sense, would be if he had been born a feral child in the Australian outback or some such, and not with a silver spoon in his mouth, in a penthouse. Many a psychological treatise has been written on Trump, not just by his niece, Mary Trump, and many more will be written.
Sunday morning Trump reviled Nancy Pelosi, the woman who, in my opinion, scares him a hell of a lot more than Hillary Clinton ever did. Trump is terrified of Pelosi.
That was the warm up. It went downhill quickly. My take? He got off the phone with the lawyers.
And yes, it got worse. This is the formula.
He’s losing it in real time, folks. I think the mental health community calls this “decompensating.” It’s the inability to maintain normal or appropriate psychological defenses. I think Trump is going nuts.
He needs to be held in pre-trial detention. Running for office is irrelevant. Eugene Debs managed to run for president from a jail cell, Cheeto Jesus can as well. Enough deference for an office he once held, he’s just a regular defendent and should be treated as such.
I think, “THEY”, the Prosecutors, Judges and even Nancy Pelosi, as a victim/s of Trump’s vile threats, should immediately place the world’s biggest loser in protective custody, behind bars, without any of his pocket items … THAT would quiet his ALL CAPS messaging to those deranged Proud Boys and others with guns … his, personal property would be filed away until his release … (Like any other common Criminal in temporary custody)
We would NOT want any disappointed Maga nuts to injure or eliminate Trump with one of their AR15’s and mounds of ammo …

I prefer the option of taking superglue to his lips AND his fingertips. That would keep him silent, both vocally (although he’d still be able to make truly unintelligible noises as opposed to the word salad he typically spews) and via texting/social media (can’t type when your fingertips are glued together).
Some might consider this to be “cruel and unusual punishment”; I consider it a case of “the punishment fitting the crime (or criminal as the case may be)”.

Ursula, you think tRump is GOING nuts??? He’s been certifiably mentally ill since childhood, or at least since early adulthood! He should be evaluated by a psychiatrist and treated as a criminally insane defendant or better yet, be too mentally ill to stand trial. I suspect tRump has refused this plan somewhere along the line. When (not if) ALL of tRump’s attorneys grab their brief cases and their coffee cups and flee the courtroom because it’s impossible to defend tRump, perhaps these legal eagle judges will consider the criminally insane idea. That’s the way to put him away and never hear from him again!!!
Your point is certainly valid. What I see, though, is a desperation, an unraveling I haven’t seen before. And understandably so. He is in a LOT of legal trouble. Any normal person would be having conniption fits over one indictment, one trial. This is surreal, the level of trouble he’s in.
Feral animals and people need to be able to survive, on their own, in a world in which everything including their own kind is out to basically kill and eat them. Former guy is a cossetted, fat, and ill-tempered chihuahua. One that has been spoiled, over-fed, and who bites any and all hands that feeds it. One which would expire in as little as one week if it ever had to live as a feral.
Calling former guy a feral anything is an incredible insult to feral animals and humans. Should former guy get what he has earned-a shopping cart with all the possessions he could put in it and an old bathrobe-he’d be lucky to last one week.

I well remember two feral cats at a local animal shelter run by a lady I knew. They were soooo beautiful. But they were totally feral, wanting nothing to do with people. They sat on a high shelf, together, and snarled at everybody.
Their beauty alone would have gotten them far in life had they been socialized as kittens. It was such a shame.

Actually his character (to use the term loosely) makes perfect sense. In geberal, people born into wealrth grow up beieveing that everything is theirs. A very few overcome it.
