The tide has turned in this saga. You can feel it. Thursday was a pivotal day, not only in the life of one Donald John Trump, but also in United States history. Trump, for perhaps the first time ever, has a one-two knockout punch in the personas of a no nonsense prosecutor and a no nonsense judge. They aim to see that the law is followed, period, end of discussion. Trumpty and his legal entourage are not used to that and they are losing it, bigly.
You have undoubtedly heard that Trump, true to form, attempted to get a delay in responding to the protective order, which Jack Smith requested yesterday, after Trump shot off his mouth on Truth Social, in all-caps. IF YOU COME AFTER ME I’M COMING AFTER YOU!, read his post. Oh, yeah? Prosecutor Smith immediately put together a protective order and then as you read, John Lauro decided he had plenty of time to do the weekend shows, but not to answer a pleading, so he needed an extension. Fuggedaboutit, said the judge.

As Kirshner said, the judge has set a hearing date for August 28 and at that time she will set a trial date. He also said, “Donald Trump and his lawyers have met their match, because they have a fair, no-nonsense, determined jurist presiding over this case.” That thought is echoed elsewhere.
Many of us, especially us older New Yorkers, have been waiting decades for this day.

That is true enough. I have a life long friend in Manhattan and he told me stories about what a clown Trump was when all this started happening.

I find it amusing Dumb Quixote’s lawyers and his propaganda network at Fux are sniveling about Trump-O’s 1st amendment rights, when that has nothing to do with the case or charges at hand in DC…….he is being charged with conspiracy, nothing to do with inciting the attack on the Capitol.
If they try to play that BS in this judge’s courtroom it won’t be allowed to continue for long.

Everything the maga/nazi/guns over people party says or does from this moment forward will be to cloud the water like a squid squirting ink to cover it’s retreat. The real proof is whether the judge has him detained for contempt of court. Fathers without jobs to meet child support are led out of courtrooms in handcuffs daily for contempt when they’ve done nothing wrong. This ahole was duly warned because of HIS BEHAVIORS in previous court dealings AND STILL gave the judge the middle finger. If he gets double secret probation for the hundredth time, then it will be clear the judge isn’t as no nonsense as people believe. We’ll know soon enough just how ‘equal justice’ works in her courtroom.

It’s an element of malignant narcissism, to threaten one’s enemies and to get revenge. Donald Trump and other people like him, dictators and malignant narcissists, want to control people through fear. Many people when they are afraid will stop engaging in critical thinking. They will surrender to the bullies. When Trump was a child, he was taught a rule, a binary, that one eats or is eaten. This means as an adult Trump will choose to threaten to eat everybody that gets in his way because he’s so afraid of being eaten.
The real danger is that the idiot really WANTS to be locked up. He believes that will boost his popularity as he becomes a martyr for the cause and thereby gaining support to regain power (and then use it to do the Krystalnacht thing)

Daithi…don’t know if you saw Inglorious Basterds but the scene where Brad Pitt was interrogating a Nazi officer comes to mind. When the guy refuses to cooperate after being told he’d be beat to death by the Jew Bear, Aldo the Apache,(Brad), responds…we’re all glad you chose that. It’s the only form of entertainment we have. Then he yells out that the officer wants to die for his country…OBLIGE HIM! So I say the same. Lock him up and let him do his bleating behind bars. Then lock up any cult members who break the law.
I listened to parts of his South Carolina speech yesterday. The guy is a monster.
