After a very short deliberation period the six man, three woman jury found Donald Trump liable for sexually abusing and defaming E. Jean Carroll, thereby ending one of the more sensational trials in recent history. The jury awarded $5 million in damages. That caused Trump to lash out in all caps on his social media platform, “I HAVE ABSOLUTELY NO IDEA WHO THIS WOMAN IS. THIS VERDICT IS A DISGRACE – A CONTINUATION OF THE GREATEST WITCH HUNT OF ALL TIME!”

What a child. Then of course he melted down some more and vowed to appeal the verdict “and win!”

Here is part of the Trump campaign’s first response: “In jurisdictions wholly controlled by the Democratic Party our nation’s justice system is now compromised by extremist left-wing politics. We have allowed false and totally made-up claims from troubled individuals to interfere with our elections, doing great damage.”

The campaign added: “This case will be appealed, and we will ultimately win.”

Umm….mebbe. Mebbe not. Legal analyst Johnathan Turley doesn’t think so.

Here’s another clip.

What is interesting is that the jury split hairs over “rape” as opposed to “sexual abuse.”

This has shaken Trump to the core. He also posted this and it shows how paranoid he is.

The comment, “Explain to WSJ!” meaning Wall Street Journal, is in response to an editorial they did recently siding with Bill Barr’s comments, that Trump is the last person to be able to implement Trumpian policies, because “He’s a horror show, left to his own devices.”

Trump is totally paranoid right now. He’s seeing the first domino fall. And one can only assume that his lawyers have already informed him that appealing this case is not going to be easy.

History will record that Donald Trump was the first former president and presidential candidate in history to have been found liable for sexual abuse and defamation — to the tune of $5 million, no less.

  1. If he appeals the verdict (assuming he even can), will he bother to show up?
Either way, it won’t go well. Get the popcorn ready.

    • Agree. He’s posturing now, and blowing smoke, but when it comes right down to it, he’s got a lot bigger issues than this. I feel safe in predicting that he might not throw any more time or money after this particular issue, considering the bigger fish he has to fry.
