After Bombshell Discovery of Laptop and Thumb Drive, Trump Viciously Attacks ‘Woke’ ‘Marxists’ at DOJ FBI

As I noted yesterday, the Washington Post bombshell report that Trump and an aide had classified files scanned into a laptop and put on a thumb drive forever vitiates any comparison between Trump versus Biden and Pence, though – of course, there were already significant differences.

There are two primary reasons to download such documents on a laptop and a plug-in. First, one wants to preserve those documents in a way that is easier to hide and preserve from everyone, including possible law enforcement. Second, and this is just breathtaking, those documents can be halfway around the world in one click, with no border crossings.

Trump had to know that the laptop and thumb drive had been given over, so it couldn’t have been explosive news to him (Could it?). But the public reaction to the seriousness of the breach could have been shocking to him. He isn’t particularly bright when it comes to reading a non-corrupt room or court system.

The talk was everywhere, but especially among the power players in Washington and New York, who were left with nothing but to agree that this was bad. That could’ve shocked Trump.

Thus it was that Trump went on Truth Social to pound out the most vicious and aggressive attack of “process” against him yet. He had a bad week, first Pence, then the “Trump laptop,” and he unleashed with his thumbs:

Radical, Woke NARA, which placed nasty Warning Labels on our great Constitution, Declaration of Independence, & Bill of Rights, colluded with the Department of Injustice, FBI, & Hopeless Joe Biden & his lawyers to try and hide the FACT that Joe has, & had, Classified Documents at his China funded “Think Tank,” & other locations. These same Weaponized Agencies Persecute & Harass me, my family, & my supporters. They are a disgrace! RESTORE EQUAL JUSTICE IN AMERICA. Shut down the Marxists. MAGA!!!

I don’t know what he means by stickers, and I don’t care. When he starts talking about collusion, he gets dangerous. There was no “collusion,” the NARA believed that Trump’s intransigence crossed over into a crime, and thus they referred the matter to the FBI. That is how government works, whether it’s the EPA, DEA, or whomever.

That’s not “collusion,” but collusion is a magic word in MAGA land, making it sound nefarious. Much more dangerously, he brings Biden into this as if it’s personal and political. I guarantee that Biden hasn’t had one discussion with Garland about this matter because no president except Trump would be speaking to the attorney general about such matters. That would have been an impeachable offense at one point pre-Trump.

Then he gets into the victimization and takes it further than he’s ever taken it before. The weaponized agencies are persecuting and harassing him AND his family and supporters, meaning this is now against the entire MAGA movement. If they are being attacked, what are they left to do? The process is disgraceful? Again, stronger words than he’s used before.

And in the last sentence, he telegraphs to his supporters and Congress what he wants to be done. He wants these “Marxists” shut down. Congress may try to withhold money. His supporters… think Oklahoma City.

When shutting down entire departments becomes one of your best defenses, you know you’re in trouble. Trump knows he’s in trouble.

Finally, Trump railing about Marxism is comical. Marx was angry and so is Trump. If anybody is a Marxist, it’s him. Read this opinion piece from the New York Times several years back. You’ll get a chuckle.

HAMBURG, Germany — We have a word in German, “Wutbürger,” which means “angry citizen” — though like many German compound words, its meaning can never quite be captured in a pithy English translation. And yet nothing in either language quite frames this current political moment.

It is a relatively new expression, with a derogatory connotation. A Wutbürger rages against a new train station and tilts against wind turbines. Wutbürgers lie at both ends of the political spectrum; they flock to the right-wing Alternative für Deutschland (A.F.D.) and the socialist Linke (Left) Party. The left wing has long had a place in German politics, and the Linke has deep roots in the former East Germany’s ruling party. And we’ve had a fringe right wing since the postwar period began. But the populist anger of the A.F.D. is something new: Anti-establishment, anti-European Union and anti-globalization, the A.F.D. didn’t exist four years ago. Today, 18 percent of Germans would consider voting for it.

The same thing is happening elsewhere in Europe: Many British Wutbürgers voted for Brexit. French Wutbürgers will vote for Marine Le Pen’s National Front. Perhaps the most powerful Wutbürger of them all is Donald J. Trump. […]

Karl Marx was a Wutbürger. So were Montesquieu, William Wilberforce, the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and the tens of thousands of Eastern German protesters who brought down the Berlin Wall in 1989.

Now: Compare these spirits to the current parties claiming to stand for necessary change. Mr. Trump vs. Dr. King. Sadly, the leaders of today’s Wutbürger movements never grasped the difference between anger driven by righteousness and anger driven by hate.

Anger works like gasoline. If you use it intelligently and in a controlled manner, you can move the world. That’s called progress. Or you just spill it about and ignite it, creating spectacular explosions. That’s called arson.
