This is amazing and it just couldn’t happen to a nicer guy. Democratic Congressman Bennie Thompson has introduced the DISGRACED bill, which would effectively strip Secret Service protection from any former president convicted of a felony (meaning of course, you know who), and MAGA world is hemorrhaging vituperation over it. Of course for the reasons you might expect.

But as Occupy Democrats notes on X “This is a stroke of genius…”

Frankly, after what Donald Trump has done, as he awaits his fate in the criminal trials he’s dealing with, why should he receive any protection? And he’s violated gag order after gag order, even while in court because he still thinks he’s impervious to justice, so really why should he be protected?

Indeed, this new bill is unprecedented and it was created to alleviate some of the stickier complications if Donald Trump winds up in an orange jumpsuit. If this legislation passes, it means Secret Service agents won’t have to guard Trump inside his prison cell.

The measure, dubbed “Denying Infinite Security and Government Resources Allocated toward Convicted and Extremely Dishonorable (DISGRACED) Former Protectees Act,” this bill is obviously aimed at Trump.

“Unfortunately, current law doesn’t anticipate how secret service protection would impact the felony prison sentence of a protectee — even a former president,” Thompson said.

“it is regrettable that it has come to this, but this previously unthought-of-scenario could become our reality,” thompson added. “therefore, it is necessary for us to be prepared and update the law so that the american people can be assured that protective status does not translate into special treatment — and that those who are sentenced to prison will indeed serve the time required of them.”

And that’s not all, according to Thompson’s team: “This bill would remove the potential for conflicting lines of authority within prisons and allow judges to weigh the sentencing of individuals without having to factor in the logistical concerns of convicts with Secret Service protection,” the tea explained.

Trump is the only president to face such a barrage of civil and felony charges, not to mention that he was also the only president to be impeached twice. So he’s facing an unprecedented amount of justice and the American taxpayers shouldn’t have to foot the bill for his crimes.

I’m picturing him in that orange jumpsuit. Justice has been a long time coming, but if he’s convicted on the felonies he’s been charged with (stemming from the hush-money trial that he’s undergoing now, and his incitement of the January 6, 2021, mob that led to the insurrection) that orange jumpsuit will be the only wardrobe he needs to worry about for a long time.

If he is convicted I’m going to be dancing in the street. I bet I won’t be the only person doing that.

Kudos to Bennie Thompson for coming up with this.

    • Well, it’s well-known that even the most notorious gangsters (the ones that ran “businesses”–not the Bonnie & Clyde types) had “protection that walked on two feet.” Of course, that protection was paid for by the boss himself rather than relying on “handouts.”

    • If found guilty it will be for a non-violent felony and he will wind up in either a Club Fed or NY minimum security prison. He won’t be locked up.with rapists and murderers. He won’t enjoy it, but there likely won’t be a fence, he’ll have some chores to do, and he won’t have a cell phone.

  1. Love Bennie Thompson! I will be dancing in the streets as well if that traitor is finally facing justice behind bars! The whole issue of secret service protection has been the one issue that would actually keep the orange menace from serving time. So kudos to Mr. Thompson! Thank you sir!

  2. Even if he is found guilty on all charges, it is a white collar crime and nonviolent, so he would likely end up in a minimum security NY state jail. When he gets convicted of a federal felony he will go.to a minimum security federal prison, like the one at Eglin AFB. It used to.be an enlisted dorm of two.bedroom suites with a small sitting area and a shared bath.
I doubt this will pass but I love the idea. If he ends eventually in Club Fed,they can close off the suites on either side and directly across plus put agents in the second bedroom. He would have to do chores.. There is no fence and inmates have a lot of access to exercise, play basketball, hit the library, none of which would interest Darth Dumn@$$.

  3. I love this bill. It is needed if only to make a statement. I say that because putting an ex-president in prison, one like trump, would be a death sentence for that person-especially trump. The only way this could come about is if the ex-prez is kept in some kind of secure isolation cell and that sort of thing is generally relegated to inmates who break rules/cause trouble. Can you sentence a felon and then put them in what is known as a punishment cell? Granted, it WOULD be an appropriate punishment for dingle berry since attention is oxygen for him.
