There is no low they won’t go and the new poster child for this mantra is Mike Collins, U.S. Representative from the State of Georgia. They grow some sick ones down south and most emphatically so in Georgia. Maybe we should sample the air or the water down there and see if some Bond-level villain hasn’t put some kind of a contaminant in it which causes stupidity and bigotry. Or, maybe those qualities just come naturally to this guy.
As you probably heard earlier, Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. reported having a parasite in his brain. And yes, this is the stuff of comedy. I personally was thinking about how to approach it. But Congressman Collins’ approach is absolutely not the way to go. This is beyond the pale.

Now if you’re saying, “Wait a minute. That name is ringing a bell,” right you are. The peach tree dish Rep. has been coming up with great one liners recently. The last one was a real racist doozy.
U.S. Rep. Mike Collins, Republican of Georgia, last week posted a video on the social media site X, which appeared to show college students at the University of Mississippi, “Old Miss,” taunting a Black woman protestor by making monkey sounds, a longtime racist trope. They also called her “Lizzo,” and chanted, “lock her up.”
Congressman Collins commented on the video, writing: “Ole Miss taking care of business.”
Outrage was strong, coming from social media users and even the White House. The NAACP called for Collins to be investigated by the House Ethics Committee.
“Which part is your favorite, Mike?” asked Fred Wellman, the former executive director of The Lincoln Project. “Is it the white kid acting like a monkey at the black woman or the white security guy acting like she’s a threat? I’m trying to figure out which flavor of racism has you all excited the most?”
You would think that backlash would have lasted a while. Well, if that’s what you thought, you were wrong. Let’s see if today’s reaction penetrates, but if anybody was taking bets, I’d say Collins is beyond reach. He’s of the Gosar/Greene/Gaetz/Higgins coterie. Don’t even waste your breath. These people are locked into their antiquated and obnoxious views. So Collins is in the hot seat again.
Former U.S. Rep. Justin Amash (R-MI), now running for the U.S. Senate, scolded Collins: “TIL [Today I Learned] this is an actual congressman, not a parody account. I’d seen some of the posts and honestly thought it was trying to portray an exaggerated version of an awful congressman.”
David Simon, the well-known author, journalist, screenwriter, and producer, observed, “There is a vast universe in which we can joke robustly about RFK Jr. asserting a brainworm problem without ever going anywhere near the sick, soulless void where this gutter trash wants to enjoy a laugh.”
Retired Naval Intelligence Officer Travis Akers said, “This is the most disgraceful post I have ever seen from a sitting member of Congress. Absolutely ghoulish and repugnant.”`
Author and well-known political commentator Charlie Sykes wrote simply, “You, sir, are really a sick fuq.”
Journalist Ron Fournier wrote: “Cruelty is the brand.”
It’s interesting how toxic Collins is. Yes, RFK Jr. is a POS. That’s a bi-partisan viewpoint, held by many on both sides of the cultural divide. As a matter of fact, the Democrats probably hate the man more than the Republicans. But there’s no way that there is anything the least bit humorous about either 1. Gun violence, 2. The assassination of JFK, or 3. The assassination of RFK, Jr’s father. There is zero humor in these things.
But leave it to Collins to find the lowest common denominator. He is the worst of the worst. Right now he’s making Marge Greene look good and that takes a hell of a whale of effort. Both of them are MAGA. This is the face of MAGA, cruelty, stupidity, racism, not one shred of class or normal human decency.
Is it any wonder that the MAGA standard bearer is in trial in New York city for business fraud related to a dalliance with a porn star? And I’m sure they wear it as a badge of honor. This is the underside of MAGA and it’s the underside of the Republican party. Donald Trump has only been on the scene for nine years now. He’s had the success he had in walking away with *leadership* of the party because he’s the Republican id. He represents the worst of the worst of the GOP. Trump not only says the quiet part out loud, he bellows it at air raid siren levels.
And they love him. Make no mistake, Trump is loved by these hard core racist low lifes, just as Hitler was loved in his era. And Collins is the type of guy that would be only too happy to see mass deportations, martial law, all of that. Until it came to be his turn. And when somebody like Trump is in charge, that’s how it rolls. But the Mike Collinses of the world don’t think about that part.

I guess I’m confused but how is yet another magat being vicious unusual or in any way newsworthy? Aren’t they all vicious (along with stupid, etc. (the list is just too damned long)) all of the time? Sure seems like it to me. Their turd emperor is vicious all the time-figured they were just trying to be trumps.

You make a point I saw a contributor make on a couple of news shows on MSNBC a couple of nights ago. RFK Jr. has three, count em THREE neurological conditions. He’s also got a serious case of A-Fib, something I have. Mine is under control but for some it’s difficult and in his case it seems more severe than normal given what he’s publcily indicated in the past. He can take off his shirt and do all the push-ups he wants but looks can be deceiving. If he wants to play Presidential politics then fine – Trump has gotten away with breaking the norms on releasing taxes and hell, his physicals (or the doctor’s reports of the results) have been less than credible but a least the doctors get out there and go over things. RFK is refusing to release any medical records. Trump might get away with busting certain candidate norms but RFK is reaching the point where journalists are going to be more demanding. He might think his family “brand” will let him get away with Trumpian bullshit but his own freaking family is criticizing his candidacy and has endorsed Biden! I think he’s badly mistaken if he thinks the Kennedy name will shield him from what’s coming. No family backing, no protection from some hard questions.
That same commentator that spoke of RFK Jr’s medical issues (that we know of) also noted Trump has some obvious ones. And dryly pointed out the oldest guy, Biden is the one that hasn’t had nor appears to have any significant medical problems/conditions!
