The Secretary of State of Colorado is not amused that elections official Tina Peters, who attended Mike Lindell’s cyber symposium, which she referred to as a “pillow conference” put the password to the voting machines online. That is a security breach and now the machines need to be replaced. CBS4:
Griswold, a Democrat, says the Mesa County Clerk and Recorder’s office directed staff to turn off video surveillance of its voting equipment prior to a May 25 voting machine update session, thus making it unable to verify the chain of custody of the machines.
“This is troubling for the entire state of Colorado to have someone in a trusted position, literally trusted to protect democracy, allow this type of situation to occur. To be very clear, Mesa County Clerk and Recorder allowed a security breach and by all evidence at this point assisted it,” Griswold said.
Furthermore, Griswold said an unauthorized person attended the May 25 session. That was when, Griswold said, passwords were accessed and recently posted online by what she called conspiracy theorists. Griswold said Peters was misleading about the employment status of that unauthorized person.
Peters has denounced an investigation by the secretary of state. Griswold said Peters isn’t cooperating.

This is starting to shape up like the inverse of the McCarthy witch hunt. The issue is not ferreting out the communists in government, the issue is the government finding out who the crazies are in its ranks.
I hope Tina Peters is happy with what side of history she’s chosen to side with.
If I were the CO Secretary of State, I’d check in to seeing if Peters could be held PERSONALLY liable for covering the full cost of replacing the machines. And *IF* that could happen, go before the state’s press and announce that ANY employee who compromises the security of ANY voting machine will face the same punishment. (Oh. I’d also make sure the citizens of the State aren’t ultimately paying for it by making sure the person’s official state/county/city paycheck is withheld until after the FULL cost is paid.)
That seems to be the ONLY thing (short of outright jail time) these reprehensible MAGAt traitors seem to understand.

Oh, nonsense. The County Clerk/Recorder would have the County passwords. Don’t slander our Jena without more evidence than that, for God’s sake. I have every confidence in her.
I do not know where you got the idea the SoS is the only one with access to the password. That does not make bad sense let alone good sense. Regardless, it is a lie. A Sec. of State cannot be everywhere at the same time: one of the basic duties of a Clerk and Recorder is to oversee a county’s election and this includes having access to the voting machines-FULL access.
