Yesterday was a watershed day in American history. The one term, twice impeached, thrice married former president became the first American president, former or sitting, to ever be charged criminally. He reacted to the news like a 2-year-old, screaming in all caps about the injustice of the situation and then later on, Friday morning, wailing that the judge assigned to the case was a “hand picked” assailant and part of an overall conspiracy against him.
While the feathers were flying, Stormy Daniels did an interview with the UK Times. The article is behind a paywall, but Raw Story has a synopsis of it on their website:
The indictment of former President Donald Trump will result in “injuries and deaths,” the porn star at the center of allegations against him warned on Friday. […]
“Whatever the outcome is, it’s going to cause violence, and there’s going to be injuries and death,” she said.
“There’s the potential for a lot of good to come from this. But either way, a lot of bad is going to come from it, too.” […]
And she told the Times that she has received threats of violence since the news of the indictment broke on Thursday. She said she also received threats when news of the allegations was first aired.
“The number and the intensity is the same as it was the first time around, but this time it’s straight-up violent,” she said. “The first time it was ‘gold digger’, ‘slut’, ‘whore’, ‘liar’ whatever. And this time it’s ‘I’m gonna murder you’. They’re way more violent and graphic.”
“It’s vindication,” Daniels added. “But it’s bittersweet. He’s done so much worse that he should have been taken down [for] before. I am fully aware of the insanity of it being a porn star. But it’s also poetic; this p—y grabbed back.”
And the most noteworthy reaction is that of all the Republicans who are outraged and believe that Trump is getting a raw deal. At least that’s what they say publicly. Privately, I’m sure they hope that somebody or something topples Trump so that they don’t have to do anything about him themselves.
Trump may soon rack up another first. He may soon be the only defendant in history to be held in contempt of court before even entering the courtroom, the way he’s attacking the judge assigned to him. I can only assume that Trump’s lawyers are cringing at this point.
Good points. I think trump’s lawyers will leave en mass if their client tries to incite violence, as he already has. And slandering the judge isn’t going to help his case. In fact, if trump tries to springboard off the indictment to turn the whole affair into a campaign event, the judge may remand him to custody to protect jurors, court staff, witnesses and law enforcement officers alike. This corrupt clown is finally going to get his comeuppance, and the vast majority of Americans and people around the world are going to welcome it.
He seems to be scraping the bottom of the barrel in attorneys, so they’re ones who will stay as long as they believe they’ll get paid.
