I would like to know why Kari Lake believes that her ticket to power is being as low life as possible. I guess she seeks to be the female Donald Trump, although Marjorie Taylor Greene is probably the best suited at that. Her level of ignorance and buffoonery perfectly matches Trump’s. Lake could be something better and that’s what makes her descent into the depths of the MAGA underverse all that much stranger.
Lake says at one point in this clip, “John McCain is reaching up, trying to hold on…” which infers to me that she doesn’t think he’s in Heaven. She didn’t say “looking down.”
To disparage McCain’s widow and insult his memory in that fashion, three days before the primary, is hitting pretty low. I don’t think Arizonans are going to go for this. I could be wrong. If this is the new face of the Arizona GOP, they are in plenty of trouble — and you know with Andy Biggs and Paul Gosar, that indeed they already are.

I feel for Cindy McCain. Her daughter is ridiculous, her husband is gone and she has to put up with celebrity trash from TV insulting her out of the blue, without cause or reason, other than the fact that she simply is who she is, John McCain’s widow — and a friend of Joe Biden, which plays into it.
Tuesday August 2 is election day. We will know a great deal more. Hopefully, with any luck, Lake will be out of the running and whatever Arizona’s future is, it won’t be as bad as it could be with Lake in it.
As to the rest of us, the last thing we need is an election denier as governor in Arizona. I don’t even want to think of the havoc she could wreak.
Well, I didn’t listen to the clip but it could be inferred her reference to McCain’s “reaching up” could simply mean “from the grave” (since he was presumably buried; I have a feeling a “sky burial” would’ve received a whole lot more attention).
Lake is as brain-dead a maggot as one would expect but it’s not necessary to automatically jump to a conclusion just because she’s a MAGAt. I wouldn’t put it past her to have actually implied that John’s in the fiery pits of Hell but by her saying “reaching up,” the more natural presumption is “from the grave.”

Your title is incorrect. Lake doesn’t “infer”; she “implies.” It was you who “inferred” the “McCain in hell” narrative.
A speaker or writer *implies* something without saying/writing it directly; a listener or reader *infers* something from the speech/article.
It’s not really a major issue; it is, after all, an all-too-common error.

Widow McCain is probably making the same bet Liz Cheney is right about now: the crazies will ultimately flush themselves out, leaving the space for sane conservatives. While by no means a mortal lock, it remains a fairly safe bet. The financing made the MAGA maggots and lack of it will break them. It’s worth losing a couple of election cycles to make that happen. The one X-factor they may not be accounting for is how evolving to fit in with the 21st Century is going to change them too.
