The evangelicals are Donald Trump’s most unwavering fans, but for some time there have been rumblings in other areas of the Christian world. The latest is a bipartisan super PAC Not Our Faith, which is anti-Trump. Huffington Post:
“Mr. President, the days of using our faith for your benefit are over,” the ad from Not Our Faith warns. “We know you need the support of Christians like us to win this election. But you can’t have it.”
The spot also accuses Trump of “using Christianity for his own purposes,” and shows footage of his Bible-toting photo op in front of St. John’s Episcopal Church, across from the White House, after having peaceful protesters teargassed to clear the area for him.
Not Our Faith’s advisory council includes Michael Wear, a faith adviser to former President Barack Obama’s 2012 reelection campaign, and Autumn Vandehei, who was an aide to former Rep. Tom Delay (R-Texas), The Associated Press reported. The group is launching a six-figure TV and digital ad campaign targeting Christians, especially evangelical and Catholic voters.
Just one more big gun trained in Donald Trump’s direction and ready to go boom. Paradoxically, the most divisive figure in American politics is unifying the rest of us in an effort to get rid of him. “Not our faith” sounds just like “not our president.” And soon that will come to pass.
While I am certain that many of this bunch are sincere believers who understood Jesus right the first time, the presence of a former aide to Tom Delay tells me something else. It tells me that the GOP-affiliated evangelicals are FINALLY understanding how time for their decades-long political alliance is finally up. They want to be relevant in this new world, they’ll have to have credibility with people the old guard always hated.
A lot of churches never went with the GOP-T. They’re certainly tired of that BS that the media are fed.
Oh, I know, P J. Unitarians come to mind on that first.

Anyone who has stood with this evil soulless man & claims to follow Jesus IS A LIAR. The Jews thought they were so above others cuz they were the children of Abraham. Jesus pointed out they were the decendents of Abraham, decendents of those who killed the prophets. He called those hypocrites “a generation of vipers.” Didn’t say a word about smoking weed, right to life, homosexuality, or anything the so called evangelicals have adopted. He did condemn over & over & over about greed & hypocrisy, the two values the so called religious right has embraced. HYPOCRITES.
I do not knee-jerk hold anyone’s former employment against them. I would need to know more. Otherwise, it is the cognitive fallacy of guilt by association.

It’s about time Christians put out some hardcore advertising opposing tRump! Our silence has been deafening.
I belong to Faithful America. Perhaps the most famous of their sayings is this one:
Love thy neighbor. No exceptions.
We are not evangelical; merely Christians who hew to a moral and ethical code of conduct that actually is a match to faith. As of today we are at almost 200,000 members.
I recall a quote from a Jewish rabbi that went something like: “What is hateful to you, do not to your fellow man. That is the whole of the law. The rest is merely commentary.”

Let’s start with over 5,500 destroyed children, including babies. Jesus also pointed put many times that those that did not do good & follow his teachings were not his disciples. He confronted evil. He never excused it. Support a liar, destroyer of over 218,000 peoples families, & think anyone doin that is practicing the golden rule is a lie to start with.
One thing I have noticed…’christian evangelicals’ are a cowardly bunch. What? No pushback? Slink back into the darkness “you generation of vipers.”
