Tucker Carlson should have started out this interview with the caveat, “I’m not a journalist but I play one on TV.” I wonder if he sees the consummate irony in how the words he uses to tear down the profession of journalism are ones that are used to describe him? And on him, they fit. The Guardian:

The primetime host also called others in his chosen field “small-minded, status-obsessed, insecure, not that bright, just not impressive”.

I couldn’t have written a better description of Tucker Carlson if I thought about it all night.

“It just makes me sick,” he said. “I really hate them.”

And they you, Tucker.

Carlson was speaking to Outkick, a sports and pop culture website. His complaints included that mainstream journalists’ work was not “aimed upwards”.

“I just can’t overstate how disgusted I am,” he said, “not simply by the details of the lying of the medium, but disgusted by the emphasis. The media is basically Praetorian Guard for the ruling class, the bodyguards for Jeff Bezos. That’s the opposite of what we should have.

This trust fund baby wants you to know that he has better ideas about social engineering than most politicians. There have been comments about him one day running for president. I was just going to say, let’s assume the Republican party hasn’t gone that insane, but with them, you are a fool to assume that they have a bottom. There is no low they won’t go. They showed us once that they were fine with a talk show host as their front man, just so they could be in power and get their judges in place. To think that they wouldn’t be fine doing the same thing again is a presumption that I, for one, am not prepared to make.

In all events, the reason Carlson is making such loud and abrasive noises right now, is because last night he launched Tucker Carlson’s Originals, an “investigative” series, which is, of course, going to “tell the truth” that no one else will. And why is that? Because motherTucker is making it up as he goes along to fit his right-wing narrative. Plus, he’s not having a good time with breaking news stories right now. That’s why the maniacal laugh two nights in a row. He knows he can’t sell the material and he’s nervous as hell.

Fox News is having problems reporting on actual events of the day, so of course they need to default to “original” programming.

Oh, and by the way, Carlson is fully vaccinated. Don’t confuse, ever, the way he walks with the way he talks. He’s covering his own at all times and he doesn’t care if he’s telling you to hang yours out there to dry.
