The hits just keep on coming for, or rather on not-at-all good ole Donald J. Trump.  Look, it’s generally felt that Monday’s suck. We’ve all had enough bad ones, or at least Mondays that right off the bat erased the glow of what had been a nice weekend. That’s just life. But some Monday’s are particularly bad and yesterday it seems Trump’s was a triple whammy.

I just read an article from Queerty that chronicled Trump’s Monday and if he was feeling his oats after his weekend and it’s rambling, incoherent speech in NH (he does after all have MAGAs who show up and cheer no matter how stupid he looks and talks) it was obliterated as yesterday progressed. Let’s start with the thing most near and dear to Donald, his money/business “greatness.” As you know Trump launched Truth Social to great fanfare in 2022. It was going to be bigger (and of course BETTER) than Twitter. Than FaceBook too. Hell, it would be bigger and more “bigly” awesome that both combined. Alas, yesterday new filings revealed Truth Social has lost around 73 Million in net sales. I don’t know about you but from where I sit that’s not exactly kicking the butts of either Twitter/X or FaceBook/Meta. But thems the facts:

The financial disclosure form was made by Digital World Acquisition Corp. (DWAC). It’s a merger partner with Trump Media & Technology Group (TMTG). Trump launched TMTG in 2021, boasting it would rival tech giants such as Facebook.

The linked article noted Hollywood Reporter dug into the filings and learned that in 2022 Truth Social LOST 50 million, and only netted 1.4 million in sales.  Granted, it did do a bit better this year with 2.3 million in sales. But it still LOST 23 million. So far. You don’t have to be a Wall Street Financial whiz, or a business owner or even a supervisor who’s had to manage a departmental budget to work out this is bad. That Truth Social is in deep doo-doo. It has been for a while and their partner that’s supposed to provide the money to make the platform take off has given the more than one “One last chance” but that’s not likely to continue:

The merger between TMTG and DWAC has not yet completed. DWAC states that if Truth Social doesn’t start generating a lot of money quickly, the merger will fall through.

So, yesterday Trump got news that reinforced what he already knew. He not only has lost some of his personal wealth on his Truth Social venture, he’s missed out on a major revenue stream he’s been counting on. Not to mention the personal embarrassment of yet another failed business venture looming. Sure, he can b.s. most of  his MAGAs into believing it’s no big deal, or that he’ll turn it around… “soon” or that others screwed things up and he’ll start over and what he comes up with will be soooooo much better. However, deep inside him new demons will form to torment in in the wee hours of the night with the taunts and contempt of the much larger group of people who aren’t MAGAs!

So there was that but it was hardly the only “bigly” bad whack upside the head Trump got yesterday. There was his civil trial in NY and Team Trump can spin their defense including Don Jr.’s “the Trump Org is the most awesome real estate company ever” infomercial from the stand but it doesn’t change the important facts. Which are that Trump’s already lost the case, that all that’s being decide now is how much he’ll have to shell out in penalties (a helluva lot more than 73 million) and that prosecutors and the judge who were expected to throw up roadblocks and give grounds for appeal are letting Team Trump proceed with shoveling brown organic matter pretty unfettered.  Taking away whatever slim chances Trump has when it comes time to appeal.

I’m sure it didn’t help Trump’s mood that after Junior’s (useless in helping his case)  presentation it got panned by pundits for reasons I’ve stated. Worse, a particular piece of shade got thrown by one of Trump’s arch enemies. NY Attorney General Letecia Page. A WOMAN! A BLACK woman! Can you imagine Trump’s fury over getting owned on the very platform (twitter/X) that he once considered his personal playground? But James tweet was direct and merciless stating:

Today, Donald Trump Jr. took the stand to try to defend his family’s fraud. Rather than respond to any legal claim against him and his family, Trump Jr. spent his time talking through pictures of Trump properties. He didn’t make a single point to refute our case against them.

Meanwhile, in Georgia Trump got yet another trip to the woodshed for a whipping. Videos of “proffer sessions” of Sydney Powell and Jenna Ellis were obtained by ABC News. As it stands they can’t be introduced as evidence in and of themselves. However, with them out there from what I gathered from legal experts there are ways in which prosecutors can get that stuff entered into evidence at trial. Perhaps even the actual videos. Ellis was particular damaging to Trump and his image, especially on the issues of Trump’s intent and the timing of the decision that despite knowing he’d lost he had no intention of leaving the WH.

Ellis recalled a conversation she had with former White House official Dan Scavino just before Christmas 2020.

She “emphasized to him I thought the claims and the ability to challenge the election results was essentially over.”

“He [Scavino] said, ‘The boss is not going to leave under any circumstances. We are just going to stay in power,’” Ellis said. “And I said to him, ‘Well, it doesn’t quite work that way, you realize.’ And he said, ‘We don’t care.’”

So Trump had himself quite the day  yesterday. “Quite” as in bad. VERY bad. I like to point out that no matter how bad things get they can always get worse. Yes, Mondays in particular often suck but Trump is living in times where even a really bad Monday is overwhelmed by even worse developments as the week progressed. We’re only in the middle of Tuesday so who knows what other anvils are about to drop on Trump’s head?

  1. The TENSION in Trump’s micro brain must be agonizing and have a life of its own … a CONSTANT hammering of the jack hammer in that recent project in the street outside your front window would be a relief for Trump …

His persona is to wake up in the middle of the night, start blithering messages out on his phone, with ALL THIS ATTACKING on his freedom to be stupid without consequence, the high figure he will cut in prison, will be of a human worm struggling to get from one side of his cell to the other, no phone to play with, other prisoners pissed at his constant whimpering and drooling …

He MIGHT swing a deal to earn 25 cents a day sweeping and moping floors, but he IS such a lowlife, he will insist on playing the part of the, poor me, the wrongfully persecuted KING of New York and a giant MAGA group WILL save his ass …

So the end result will be his to earn … A low-life nobody, slowly and painfully fading away in everyone’s minds until some jokester mentions his name in a SNL skit that lowers the boom on any residual good feelings they might have for the freaking dumb Ass …

    • Or he just plays his loyal rubes for the fools they are and rakes in more cash under the guise of…whatever. It isn’t as if it matters to the magats.

    • Usually depends upon what jurisdiction the fine/settlement is ordered. If federal it might go to the IRS and/or DOJ. If state, might go to the state’s department of revenue or even the state’s general fund. Odd, I don’t think I’ve read anywhere that particular question and it isn’t as if it’s not important. I would be surprised if any banks got any of it after being cheated out of some hefty interest but I really don’t know.

I hope someone has an answer. For curiosity sake if nothing else.

  2. He’s going to be poor. ‘kay. So long as he isn’t president trump again who gives a happy rat’s ass? I can live the rest of my life untroubled if he loses it all and is in the poorhouse. Shocking I know.

  3. I’ll give him the same advice Job’s wife gave to him in his misery…just curse God,(no telling what that word means to his evil soul), and die. Do the world a favor.

  4. I love that Tulsa tRump photo. I’ve always thought it should be the only one of two ever printed of the Mango Mussolini, the other being the back of his head on that windy day…or maybe the toilet paper on his shoe.

  5. Twitter lost money every year but two after it was started. it really isn’t a very monetizable business model, but most especially if your idea of moderation is banning anyone who criticizes the owner, and letting hate and porn flow freely.

  6. According to reports in the Guardian and Forbes, officers at TMTG and DWAC have been served with subpoenas from a federal grand jury in the Southern District of New York, which is investigating money laundering allegations revealed by Will Wilkerson, a former co-founder of TMTG. A total of $ 8 million was alleged to have been injected into the company at the end of 2021 and early 2022. It came from Paxum Bank, a Dominica-registered firm said to be partly owned by a Putin associate.

If the lights dim and finally flicker out at Trump Social, will we see yet another set of indictments coming out of the SDNY office that could completely fill trump’s schedule for 2024 and beyond? And would this signal a swarm of civil actions filed by shareholders if criminal investigations reveal business fraud and misconduct? According to the “everything he touches” rule, it’s reasonable to conclude the answer is yes.
