You don’t know the Dietz’s. My father never walks away from equity.   Delia Doetz   Beetlejuice

I guess the shit just got real. We can now officially throw away all of the carefully crafted persona of Traitor Tot as a world class tough guy. All you had to do was to drop a few indictments on his fat, pointy head, and he drops all pretense. Trump is nothing more or less than a crybaby bastard.

According to new reporting in The Guardian, once the indictments we announced on Thursday, Mar-A-Lago announced on Friday that they were suspending all scheduled weekend events indefinitely. The Guardian included a quote from similar reporting in The New York Post;

“It won’t be business as usual,” a source told the Post. “They expected this but there is shock now that it’s happened.

“It’s real now. And they are worried about a surprise.”

Shock and surprise? Really? Alvin Bragg has been presenting evidence to the grand jury for months now, and we’ve even had a pretty decent roster of witnesses the media reported as entering and leaving the building. For the last three weeks, pretty much the entire nation has been on Indictment Watch! every Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday. And when the hammer finally drops, all of a sudden now the defense team is worried and surprised?

I call bullshit. There is no way that any barred lawyers, including Trump’s Salvation Army handoffs are shocked and surprised. After all, pretty much any lawyer knows that when you get a letter from a District Attorney for your client to come on in and testify, that’s a pretty clear signal that it’s time to come on in and plea deal, or else get ready to surrender your client to the court.

They all know and already knew this. The only one who didn’t was His Lowness. Having never been held personally responsible for his actions, Trump’s delusions let him continue to believe that there was some magic bullet that would get him out of this. And as far as these 3rd rate ambulance chasers were concerned, if that’s what the client believed, then that’s what they believed. Which is legal malpractice. A lawyers job is to counsel his client on reality, not the client’s delusions. Which is why they sent that slobbering idiot Bobby Costello up to testify before the grand jury, to throw sand in the gears, and to poison the jury pool.

What is inconceivable is that the Guardian reporting said that Trump’s lawyers are supposedly shocked and dismayed by the potential number of charges Trump may be facing. On Thursday NBC News reported a 179 count sealed indictment. Current unconfirmed reporting today puts it at closer to 30-35 criminal and tax fraud charges. And now his lawyers are shocked and dismayed?

Why? How stupid are these ambulance chasers? Alvin Bragg is the first District Attorney in US history to have a former US President in his sights. Did these idjits really believe that Bragg would settle for taking a single criminal misdemeanor charge, do some legal origami to turn it into a criminal charge, and then convict Trump of something he would walk away from with probation and a paltry fine? He could have done that months ago. Bragg has carefully crafted a Golden Corral buffet of criminal fraud charges to maximize his opportunity to hear the sound of a barred door clanging shut behind Hair Twitler.

Here’s what I’m looking for going into Tuesday’s arraignment. It was widely reported before the indictments were announced that The Mango Messiah was energized by the thought of a perp walk. The reports said that Trump had actually practiced his perp walk, and dithered as to whether or not to smile for the cameras. But that was then, and this is now.

When Trump walks into the Manhattan criminal courthouse on Tuesday, he does so as a criminally indicted defendant. That wasn’t the case when Trump childishly practiced his perp walk in front of a mirror, wondering whether or not to smile. But it was all rhetorical and far off then.

Trump’s base would love nothing more than to see Il Douche strutting down the hallway with a sneer on his face and his chin jutted out Mussolini style. But Trump’s ego is an over weaning and fragile thing. What does the feel of steel bracelets on his wrists do to Trump’s fragile ego? To know finally, in his own mind that he’s no different than any other carjacker of street thief?

That will tell us pretty much everything. If Trump strides down that hallway like Caesar, his hands shackled with a sneer on his face, then Trump is playing purely to the politics of the 2024 race, and once again satiating his base. But if Trump walks down that hallway, hands unshackles, head bowed and shoulders slumped, then we’ll know that reality has finally seeped in. Less than 72 hours left to go.

  1. So much for confidence in his innocence. The smart move would have been to carry on as if nothing important was happening. I wonder how all his dues paying members feel about the club being closed down, not due to a hurricane or water main break or any other natural cause, but because Cheeto Jesus is so embarrassed at being “indicated” that he can’t face them.

  2. I said elsewhere earlier that the timing took a lot of people (yes, me included) by surprise. The conventional wisdom had become that it would be another month. Even though the grand jury was meeting Thurs. and on a couple of days next week before the planned month long hiatus BUT they were scheduled to hear evidence on another case. Given that I can see how Trump might have thought Bragg had gotten cold feet (again!) and that with a vicious enough set of attacks he might get Bragg to back down & the whole thing would go away. I’ll confess to, since Bragg backed down once already being worried he might be wavering a bit. But another part of me thought about Bragg being young enough and ambitious enough that he really had no choice but to move forward with charging Trump or his political, and frankly legal career (at least a high paid partnership with some NYC powerhouse firm) would end when his current term ends.

I’ve developed a whole new appreciation for Bragg. He changed up the grand jury schedule and pulled a quarterback sneak with no snapcount. When news broke Thursday afternoon they were taking up Trump business almost every pundit and journalist was surprised. And down in FL Trump and his team had themselves an “Oh SHIT” moment. Yes, they like almost everyone got caught off-guard. I’ll bet even the grand jurors were startled when the session started and the various counts of the indictment started being read by the prosecutors! I say I admire Bragg’s move because Trump was ramping up a big, sustained PR blitz that would include most GOP Congress Critters, the RWNJ media world and who knows who else! And Bragg knocked ALL of them off their game. A lot of plans that were in the works had to be scrapped, and let’s face it – Trump’s legal team isn’t up to the job of defending him even if they had that additional month.

Even Trump knows that. And he’s stuck with his decades long history of stiffing real, competent lawyers and ignoring their advice which is why he’s stuck with second and even third rate lawyers. So, he knows he’s in deep shit and that THIS time he doesn’t have someone he could bully or buy off (looking at YOU Rudy G.!) and even worse, now that someone has taken the plunge more indictments in more places are coming. The mess he made at his club is easily cleaned up. Lots of broken stuff to sweep up and all that. But I suspect he’s begging Jarvanka to come over and work the phones with him to get REAL lawyers to sign up – maybe co-signing retainer agreements! But right now ALL he can think about is that he’s actually going to have to appear in court as a criminal defendant. During a trial. And NYC won’t be the only one! No wonder he doesn’t want club members around to see him, or hear him bellowing his bullshit!

Oh, and one last thing. Those idiots who thought it would be sooooo cool to have some party/event or even their wedding at Marmalade-A-Go? Forget about getting your money back! Suckers!

    • Am I and Bill Palmer the only two people completely unsurprised by this “sudden” turn of events? It was ALWAYS a question of when, never if. Anybody saying to the contrary bought into the hype put forth by Trump’s own people to sell the lie that’d it be otherwise.

So…I’m just going to just put this out here right now. When the counter narrative starts up on how he’ll never be convicted, pay attention to who pushes such. If it’s the same people that was saying he’d never be indicted, assume they are lying, have no clue what they’re talking about or both.

    • If they cancel weddings and other events they contracted to host, they can and will be sued. Imagine being a bride who planned to.marry in June. Two.months from.the wedding, and you have no venue. I hope they own Man-go-Lardo.

    • There is NO way Jarvanka would risk their personal funds on this guy now, if they ever would – they are seeing their worst expectations come true – he is completely out of hand & quite nuts ! They have their own problems of trying to stay out of the hands of Justice !

    • I think it was a brilliant move by DA Bragg to make everyone think there would be no grand jury vote before their scheduled 4 week break. Trump is so damn arrogant, he thought HE was in control. DA Bragg let him know, with great certainty, who the boss is now.

  3. He and his lawyers put out that story that he was going to be arrested last Tuesday. That should have shot whatever credibility they still had.

  4. One person who will be riveted to the screen on Tuesday is Fani Willis. Her case has even more potential charges and she’s said to be considering using Georgia’s RICO statute to indict trump and his co-conspirators. From the sound of the Guardian story, the malignant mango mudsucker is looking at literally hundreds of potential charges, and that’s before we even get to Smith’s, which could be the most serious. No wonder the lights are going out at Mar-a-Lago. A reality chill has set in and the proprietor is sweating blood.

  5. I noticed tramp deleted his True Lies post praising the Grand Jury for taking a hiatus……he was hoping that by schmoozing people he never met would somehow benefit him. Bragg took that moment to wield his hammer.
    BRILLIANT!!!!!!!!!!!
