I suppose that suing one’s former employees for huge sums of money is one way to finance a presidential campaign. In the case of Michael Cohen, I don’t think he’s got $500 million or half a billion dollars. But Trump will be happy to take his last dollar, of that we’re certain. Reuters:

The lawsuit accuses Cohen of violating his attorney-client relationship with Trump by revealing his “confidences” and “spreading falsehoods” in books, podcasts and media appearances.

It says Cohen wrongfully called Trump “racist” in his 2020 book, “Disloyal,” and fabricated conversations with Trump.

“The timing of Disloyal’s release, just prior to the November 3, 2020 Presidential Election, suggests that Defendant intended to improperly disclose Plaintiff’s confidences when it would be most lucrative to do so — and while Disloyal would be sure to have the most damaging reputational effect,” the lawsuit said. […]

Cohen did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

I can’t wait until he does respond. Here’s the obvious takeaway, how in the world can Trump claim reputational damage? You need to have a reputation in the first place before you can claim that one’s been damaged.

Plus, Trumpty has been making bank, $12 million if I recall his claims, since his indictment. Maybe he should pay Cohen to write yet another book, it only seems to be working in his favor.

The only thing I’m sure of here is that there will be some great comic relief. God knows we need it with three mass shootings in the past 11 days.

  1. Michael Cohen strikes me as nobody’s fool. At least now that he’s wised up to Trump. I don’t think this lawsuit is going for Trump’s benefit.

  2. I don’t think Cohen is worried. In fact, he could turn this around and request Bragg consider adding yet another charge to trump’s indictment for witness tampering. The malignant mango mobster could spend his remaining pretrial time at Rikers, and wouldn’t that make Michael’s day?

  3. Heh. Cohen should simply countersue considering the speed with which Trump started publicly badmouthing Cohen when Cohen’s legal troubles first started.

  4. I get it, former guy does not have any mechanism which stops every dumb-ass thought crossing his mind from exiting his pie-hole. Does he not have ears to hear with? When I say something careless, or stupid, I hear it. He doesn’t hear the filth that has been spewed out of the sewer of a mouth of his? He claims he passed a cog. test-has he no memory at all?

More importantly: what the hell are his attorneys doing? They ought to have a bit of an idea much of what he has said not just during his presidency but during his life will be open to scrutiny in such a suit-are they out of their minds? F.F.S. all that needs to be subpoenaed are some of the tapes of that dumb-ass show of his. He is recorded dropping “N” bombs and who knows what the hell else. At this point I’m not sure who is lacking more sense-trump or his lawyers.
