Trump Stupidly Grins, He Believes He Doesn’t Need Voters Beyond MAGA

I suppose this all makes sense when you come right down to it. All signs point to Donald Trump being defeated by his own worst enemy, which is himself. And evidently he’s fine with that. How do we know? Because he’s got the same old dirge going about how the Democrats are going to steal the 2024 election just like they stole the 2020 election. And why didn’t we steal 2016, if it was all so easy, just a matter of a few Italian satellites and a dead Venezuelan or two? Crickets is the answer you’ll get to that query.

He believes this, evidently. He doesn’t need Nikki Haley’s voters. Or Ron DeSantis’s, but at least DeSantis was well trained enough to roll over like a good dog and endorse Trump after he ran out of cash and couldn’t afford the private jets. Not so, Haley. She said that Trump had to “earn” her voters. And he has zero intention of doing that because he says he doesn’t need them.

Liz Cheney thinks that Trump needs every vote he can get. She was in Iowa Wednesday talking to a packed house at Drake University about how the country can’t survive a second Trump term — let alone a third, a fourth, etc., which is now on the drawing boards at Project 2025. Washington Post:

A Biden campaign official said Jeffrey Katzenberg and Rufus Gifford, who oversee fundraising for the president’s campaign, have held meetings with people in Haley’s orbit to try to recruit them. Biden allies are discussing a fundraiser specifically for Haley supporters in the coming weeks or months, said the official, who spoke on the condition of anonymity to discuss internal strategy.

The new ad will run across digital platforms, including Meta, YouTube, connected TV and online video. The Biden campaign’s analytics department has used election results in specific states to find likely Haley voters. Using Zip codes where Haley overperformed against Trump relative to her statewide total, the campaign will target voters who are slightly older, college-educated and more suburban.

Haley has not yet endorsed a candidate in the presidential race. But toward the end of her campaign, she became increasingly critical of Trump, whose administration she worked in as ambassador to the United Nations. A spokesperson for Haley did not respond to a request for comment.

During the GOP primary campaign, Trump wrote on his social media platform that Haley supporters “will be permanently banned from the MAGA camp.” After Haley dropped out, Trump wrote on Truth Social that he wanted “to invite all of the Haley supporters to join the greatest movement in the history of our Nation.” But in subsequent comments, when asked how he would win over Haley voters, Trump said, “I’m not sure we need too many.”

In her speech exiting the race, Haley said Trump had to earn the votes of her supporters. People close to Haley said he has made no effort to do so.

“Donald Trump, my sister made a plea to you to reach out to her voters and her movement and you have not done that. Shame on you. You will need them,” Haley’s brother, Mitti Randhawa, wrote on X. “He hasn’t done that. What a pathetic piece of.”

The real issue here is that this isn’t Biden v. Trump, this is the continuance of democracy in America v. the inception of fascism. It really is that simple and that basic. But maybe Haley’s supporters see this as some vague policy battle. How they could be that dense, I don’t know.

Let’s see if these ads move the needle for Biden. Frankly, what I think needs to happen are ads that put Trump’s fascist ways and Putin connections on the line. But maybe Team Biden thinks that’s too heavy handed.

Another possibility is that Haley is hedging her bets for the July convention. Yes, Trump has the nomination sewn up — but, and this is big — if he’s a convicted felon by then, that could change the situation quite a lot. Maybe Haley would try to pull off some write-in coup at the last minute at the convention.

Or, Haley could endorse democracy, which means endorsing Joe Biden. That’s not such a terrible idea. Liz Cheney is doing that and Cheney has an eye towards a post-Trump GOP of some sort. It would be wise for Haley to consider the very same thing.

Meanwhile, let’s keep an eye out for RFK, Jr. Odds are that he’s not going to get a lot of Democratic support but he could bleed off some of the vaxxer crazies from Trump.

What a world we live in, in 2024.

  1. What did that one instructor at Penn St say? Oh yeah, “he was the dumbest g_d-damned student he ever had”. And dingleberry keeps underscoring that point every single day. The man isn’t bright. Honestly, my dog is considerably brighter, understands more of the engilsh vocabulary, and can count higher than this effing dingus. Still, this all works wonderfully for the Dems so keep right at it idiot boy.

      • Does it really make any difference? Seriously north. He has an unearned degree given to him because of his father. Penn state, Penn, who gives a rat’s ass?

BTW, you are correct and I do know better. I always for whatever reason type Penn St like it is the only school in Pennsylvania. Of course Penn St is in the Big 10 so that might be why…

  2. With the ticking bombs his regime planted and the gqp legislators waiting like sleeper cells for him to give the call and them to become the cancer which eats our Democracy, he probably doesn’t need anyone but his magats.

  3. I live in fear that someone in his group of sycophants who knows it’s a losing strategy will convince the Mango Menace to actually court other voters besides just telling Blacks and Jews they are idiots if they don’t vote for him. (As a Jew, I find that very persuasive.) So, maybe we shouldn’t say any of this out loud. 🙂
