I wonder if there’s a psychological condition known as “jury obsession?” Donald Trump has been harping all week on two topics, basically, one is the market value of Mar-a-Lago, which he can’t shut up about and the other is how wonderful it would be if he only had a jury. He’s starting to sound like the characters in the Wizard Of Oz, they all needed a heart, a brain, courage and poor Donald, all he needs is a jury.

And along with his obsession for a jury, which is not a usual thing in an injunctive relief case, which the Manhattan civil fraud case is, Trump has seen fit to post this video of Arthur Engoron talking about a judicial device called “judgment not withstanding the verdict.” I don’t know if this video took place in a classroom, but it’s obvious how it’s being used here, which is to put forth the notion that no matter what a jury might have said, this judge is so prejudiced against Trump that he would overturn the jury. Whut?

This video is being posted by Trump to make the judge look bad. It’s not an attempt by Trump to educate the public with a public service announcement or anything like that. Trump is hoping to make the judge look biased and this is in direct violation of the gag order issued by Judge Engoron that Trump not talk in a derogatory manner about anybody who works for the judge and certainly that would include the judge himself.

Or, maybe not. Maybe Trump figures he’s going to avoid the gag order by talking about the judge and not talking about anybody else involved in the trial. Maybe he thinks that’s clever. I don’t know.

Here’s another video that Trump posted, this time about Letitia James. You can put two and two together here and see that Trump is trying to make a case that he’s being treated unfairly and that the civil trial in Manhattan is, to use his favorite term. a “witch hunt.”

As has been said before many a time in jest, Trump has the right to remain silent, he just doesn’t have the ability.

Let’s see how this is dealt with by the judge. Maybe it will be ignored. One way to deal with Trump is to deny him an undue amount of publicity. He left New York yesterday because he wasn’t getting all the media coverage that he had hoped for, so why stay in town, right?

Maybe Trump’s decided that since he’s hamstrung in court, he’ll just post videos which put the judge and Letitia James in a bad light. What a shame that’s not going to diminish the mountain of evidence that they have, and his case will be decided on the facts and on the law and not on whatever optical illusions he creates. But continue to create them he will, I have no doubt.

  1. He’s going to push this until he’s locked up and he thinks his cult will rise to the occasion by rioting in the streets. It’s more likely to be widespread jubilation, and reality will finally dawn on him: he’s not coming out. EVER.

For everyone’s safety, the sooner the better.

    • Who’s being treated unfairly? How about every democracy-loving American, all of whom are being subjected to Trump’s toxic shit on a daily basis. Can someone in the judiciary show the courage to lock this vile traitor in solitary til the election?

  2. Your “… I wonder if there’s a psychological condition known as “jury obsession?” …” may very well exist. Also, it’d be plausible to ask if there’s also a psych condition called ‘judge-mental remorse?’ If so, the malodorous mango carbuncle probably has, and expresses, both conditions.

  3. Woah! Hope you don’t mind this, Ursula. Check out this article on what Trump has been reported to have done, that is: The American ABC news outlet reported that Mr Trump told a Mr Anthony Pratt the supposed number of nuclear warheads on US subs, and how close they could get to a Russian submarine without being detected, after leaving White House. If true, it’s got to be viewed as being traitorous. Begs the question, who else has Trump spilled the secret recipe of the bean sauce to?

  4. Is it not so that a jury has the ability to also award punitive damages, over and above the original amount being sought, and that, given all the overwhelming evidence against the Trump organization, that Trump and his legal team chose not to do a jury trial because they knew that they were guilty and ran the risk of much larger damages being awarded? something that a lone judge would be less inclined to award?

    • I actually assumed this was why they didn’t do a jury trial. The most insecure man on earth, tantrumthinskin, has had plenty of fraud suits in NY & is all too aware that the citizens of NY have long since known him as ‘Don the Con’. Unlike MAGAs they harbor no delusions about what an deranged boob he is.

  5. When is this a*s-hole going to be locked up? Screw fining him until he obeys (he won’t), just lock him the f*ck up and be done with it. Locking him up will be the wake-up call he so desperately needs. Let him spend some time in the vermin infested jails in NY and he won’t be posting any f*cking thing; he’ll be whining for his mommy.

  6. Judges lock up tens of thousands daily for much much less than what he’s ALREADY DONE and, more importantly, what he will CONTINUE TO DO!!! Any judge who ‘threatens’ any consequences, and doesn’t FOLLOW THROUGH, is as guilty as he is of furthering this coup and his ongoing verbal assaults. The next act of violence will BE ON THEM!
