Trump Blasts Leak of Questions as “Disgraceful:” Which Fits, Given It’s Likely the White House Leaked

“So disgraceful that the questions concerning the Russian Witch Hunt were ‘leaked’ to the media. No questions on Collusion,” Trump wrote on Twitter. “Oh, I see…you have a made up, phony crime, Collusion, that never existed, and an investigation begun with illegally leaked classified information. Nice!”

The President of the United States, via Twitter.

Oh, Jesus, where the hell to begin?

Well, I suppose this is as good a place as any, a link to my “just published” article on why there is reason to believe that Mueller’s office did not leak anything, that the “questions” “leaked” more likely represent “possible questions” that come from notes made by Trump attorneys in their negotiations with Special Counsel Robert Mueller. Notes likely would be lying around given that Politico reports that “Trump’s rebooted legal team is working behind the scenes to defuse the sprawling and intensifying investigation.”

Then there are all the self-serving lies! Straight from the President of the United Friggin’ States of America, lies out in front of the world to see. Lies such as the fact that “collusion is a phony crime.” Wrong, Jackass, sir. “Collusion” is a handy word that encompasses many crimes, such as “conspiracy” and accepting the help of a foreign government in a federal election by promising the foreign power something, such as “and we will never enforce any sanctions against the Russian state, nor criticize a thing that Putin does.” Or the lie that the investigation “begun” with illegally leaked classified information. Again, wrong, because this particular investigation began when this particularly corrupt president fired the head of the FBI for not promising loyalty and not dropping the “Russia investigation.” Had Trump not gotten so far out in front of his skis back then, and not fired James Comey, and had he named someone to the office of Attorney General who didn’t lie throughout his confirmation process on all his Russian contacts, Mueller would be lawn bowling at the club, or billing $600/hour – probably to defend someone like Donald Trump.

Trump finds these leaks particularly inconvenient because they demonstrate just how easy it ought to be for the “president” (popular vote loser) to answer questions that go right to the heart of whether or not this man is so criminally corrupt he must be driven from office, or just corrupt in the sense that he only cares about himself and replacement can await the next election. He often seems to care deeply about “classified information” getting loose, especially when it can help him (accusing Hillary STILL about un-secure classified information) or when it can hurt him, such as …well, we’re not sure what leak of classified information he has devised in his head as the “wrong” here. But, if Trump’s idiot son-in-law uses Top Secret information from the President’s Daily Brief, and, well – people die, it’s not such a problem.

In late October, Jared Kushner made an unannounced trip to Riyadh, catching some intelligence officials off guard. “The two princes are said to have stayed up until nearly 4 a.m. several nights, swapping stories and planning strategy,” the Washington Post’s David Ignatius reported at the time.

What exactly Kushner and the Saudi royal talked about in Riyadh may be known only to them, but after the meeting, Crown Prince Mohammed told confidants that Kushner had discussed the names of Saudis disloyal to the crown prince, according to three sources who have been in contact with members of the Saudi and Emirati royal families since the crackdown. Kushner, through his attorney’s spokesperson, denies having done so.

So, it is best to take Trump’s outrage about “leaks” and “classified” information with a pound of salt, to say the least, because Trump will be the first to leak anything if he thinks it will help him.

He would not be Trump, nor our current president, if he could contain himself and not follow-up one awful tweet with another, just in case anyone missed the awfulness of it all. And so he did, writing: “It would seem very hard to obstruct justice for a crime that never happened! Witch Hunt!”

Actually, Jackass, sir – it is really easy to obstruct justice for crimes that never happened. You can obstruct justice by lying and destroying evidence about embarrassing things that perhaps were not a crime, but simply looked like one. Say, for example, a person has several questionably legal loans or business deals with Russian criminals, or there is a tape of a person having sexy time in a not sexy way in Moscow, and that person did not want that information out, so that person lies about it, destroys evidence, tells others to lie, asks investigators for loyalty, and offers pardons to people who plead to crimes they committed while covering it all up, so long as they don’t “flip” …that’s a particularly easy way to obstruct justice for “crimes that never happened,” sir, jackass. Not that anyone expects the President of the United States, head of the Executive or law-enforcement branch, to know a thing about laws or their enforcement.

It is Tuesday in Washington D.C., just another day of gross-presidential-sized lies, wholly inappropriate and un-presidential tweets, and criticism of the person charged with investigating him, no “news” to report.
