I don’t think Donald Trump did J.D. Vance any favors tonight in Ohio, but he did do a kind of favor for the GOP. He announced his announcement — of his 2024 run — but he did not announce the 2024 run.
Whut? Yes, we know. It’s never happened before. Trump is having a wonderful time teasing this one out. He must have been a stripper in his last life. He just wants to get every ooh and aah from the audience that he can.

There are many GOPers who don’t think it’s such a great idea for him to declare before Xmas. But I can’t say this is surprising. This should clip Ron DeSantis’ wings effectively. Look on the bright side, Ron. You can save time and money not doing those stupid videos.
The “logic” here is waiting for the ballots to be counted and then, depending upon which way things fall and how bad a shellacking the GOP takes, then Trump will strategize his next assault on America and launch Stolen Election 2.0. But you already figured that out.
Let’s see how J.D. Vance does tomorrow. I think this may have been a definitive night.
And mark November 15 on your calendar. We get to watch a Trump psychotic episode every day — until something happens. Who knows what? I’ve said from the very beginning, this is Greek tragedy. The only thing we know is that Trump’s own character flaws will do him in. How or when, we have yet to see.

Even the Faux News pundits called it a disaster early in the evening; the revellers at Doctor Oz’s party were long gone by the post-midnight confirmation of his loss, leaving only TV reporters in an empty room.
