There’s a very interesting phenomenon going on. I would call it a once in a lifetime occurrence except the truth is, you don’t see it that often. It’s not like Halley’s Comet. I recall that happened back in the 80’s and that’s it for my lifetime and for the lifetimes of all who were alive then, unless they were small children. Then they might see it happen once again in their natural lives.
But the event of which we speak happens every few hundred years if that. We speak of the demise of a major political party, in this case the GOP. They are 170 years old. They celebrated a birthday a few weeks ago, as a matter of fact. March 20, 1854. As they love to peacock and crow, Abraham Lincoln was their first president. This is amusing because you know Lincoln would be a Democrat if he was alive in this day and age. Hell, for that matter, so would Dwight Eisenhower.
And well you know who is to be their last president. That’s right, Donald Trump. And 2024 is the GOP’s last race. Trump ran the party into the ground and it’s anybody’s guess who will take over a post-Trump GOP.
So what happens now? Well, it would appear that there’s an interim party. And what is its name? The Lincoln Project has christened it the Party Of Stupid. That works. Come, let’s study what we know about this interim party and its wondrous standard bearer. For you see, Trump is both the end of the GOP line and the afterbirth of this new interim party and we don’t know who or what the post-Trump party is going to put forward to lead. Of vastly more importance, we don’t know when.

If only George Carlin was here to see this. But then again I miss a great many pundits and wits. What I wouldn’t give to know the opinions of Jonathan Swift, George Bernard Shaw, Oscar Wilde, Dorothy Parker, Rod Serling, and Kurt Vonnegut in addition to George Carlin vis a vis Donald Trump. What do all these writers and wits have in common? An appreciation for both the comical and the grotesque in life and how those elements look when they meet. They are perfect to comment on Trump world. The rest of us can only carry on as best we can with what we’ve learned from the great masters.

The problem is, once this madcap gold rush is over, the actual value of the stock is going to come to light. Truth Social made less than $4M last year. So some stock market fanaticism could indeed drive the price through the roof and value it as a $20B company, something insane, but at some point, the airplanes have to land. They can’t stay in the sky forever and neither can this crazy stock. The stock market crash of 1929 which preceded the Great Depression taught that lesson.

Eventually it does. And so if the Party Of Stupid, or at least its standard bearer, is depending upon this for a bail out, good luck.
