Lawyer Michael Avenatti was arrested in Los Angeles on Wednesday on suspicion of domestic violence and bail was set at $50,000. Avenatti was gracious in his praise of the law enforcement officers who arrested him, about whom he said, “they are only doing their job,” and he also said that he had never hit a woman in his life and fully expected to be exonerated of all charges. Thursday, Avenatti’s high profile client, Stormy Daniels, made a statement. The Independent:
“Of course I do not condone violence against women and if these allegations prove true I will be seeking new representation,” Ms Daniels said in her statement.
“These are serious and obviously very troubling allegations, but right now that is all they are: allegations,” Daniels, whose real name is Stephanie Clifford, said. ”We should all reserve judgement until the investigation — an investigation Michael has said he welcomes — is complete, and that’s what I’m going to do.”
The identity of the alleged victim has not been released at this time. Avenatti made a further statement,
“I have been an advocate for women’s rights my entire career and I’m gonna continue to be an advocate. I am not going to be intimidated from stopping what I am doing.“
The lawyer followed his statements with a tweet thanking his supporters and echoing his commitment to women’s rights, writing, “I will not be intimidated into stopping my pursuit of justice and what is right.”
Steve Bannon perceives Avenatti as a threat to Trump in 2020. Bannon told Bill Maher on HBO recently, “He’s got a fearlessness. And he’s a fighter. I think he’ll go through a lot of that field, if he decides to stick with it, like a scythe through grass.”
Avenatti has proven to be a real, strong and independent threat to Trump, personally, so I envision a whole room full of hackers and GOP slackers drumming up a, “scandal”, of charges against Avenatti to silence his REAL threat to Trump’s racism, treatment of women, and because this sudden charge at this pivotal moment in time, seems quite suspicious, I want to know the gory details of the sources and the vetting of these charges, [bipartisan?] ….
The criminal bias of Trump’s swamp permits SO MUCH horrible crap from DJT, there seems to be a good chance he has turned the Avenatti problem over to one of his,”fixers”, in the field …
There were a LOT of unanswered questions about the authentic charges against a certain Senator from Minnesota, who was NOT given his chance in court, Avenatti is NOT a chump in court, and his own team can cremate anyone calling false charges on Avenatti himself … I wish that for him, so he can continue to be the thorn in Trump’s abundant hide ….
