This almost two-week long siege of Ukraine by Russia has been a tactical and strategic farce from the get go. The symbol of the Russian bear might as well be replaced with The Mouse That Roared. Now yet another blunder of crucial significance has taken place. Russia has managed to destroy its own comms system. Seriously.
Pssst, Vladimir: You can’t run an effective offensive with no intelligence.
On Monday, an important Russian general was killed by Ukraine and the Russians ended up discussing it on an insecure line.
(not to be confused with Gen. Valery Gerassimov, of the often misconstrued Gerassimov Doctrine)

His boss, who makes a looong pause when he hears the news of Gerassimov's death (before swearing), is Dmitry Shevchenko, a senior FSB officer from Tula. We identified him by searching for his phone (published by Ukrainian military Intel) in open source lookup apps. pic.twitter.com/VyNAytitnK

The idiots tried to use the Era cryptophones in Kharkiv, after destroying many 3g cell towers and also replacing others with stingrays. Era needs 3g/4g to communicate.
The Russian army is equipped with secure phones that can't work in areas where the Russian army operates.— Christo Grozev (@christogrozev) March 7, 2022
In closing, here's the origin of the greatest military opsec failure of all time.
First, Putin signed the so-called @bellingcat law, prohibiting soldiers from posting on social media.
Then he told the military to not use foreign phones as they are "insecure".
The rest is history. pic.twitter.com/6uCe7RWEyr— Christo Grozev (@christogrozev) March 8, 2022
Looks like Putin signed the law just yesterday, March 6. This war is melting down in real time.
Credible reporting says Putin personally oversaw planning for the invasion. I’ve already stated more than once that either he ignored advice from professionals or that (given he has a level of control not seen since Stalin) they were afraid to tell him some of the truths that needed to be taken into account. Perhaps a combination of the two but for me the bottom line is that Putin has decided to play General, having given himself the rank of Grand High General Pooh Bah of the Soviet, oops Russian army. He’s proven to be just another tinhorn asshole cosplaying military genius. Perhaps his little puppet Trump will give him the name of a certain tailor…
Can you imagine if trump wanted to plan an invasion?
Yeah. It would be troops massed on Colorado’s southern border to stop those new Mexicans. What a fucking moron. Someone needs to draw a black sharpie circle on his butt so he can find his ass to wipe it. Send the marines into new York & Georgia to stop those prosecutions. That’s if he doesn’t decide to nuke the blue states.
According to the mothership, the story of the death of Gen. Major Vitaly Gerrasimov, aged 48, the chief of the 41 Army has another wrinkle.
If the General’s surname, Gerasimov, sounds familiar; it should. The Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Russia is also a General Gerasimov. Valery Vasilevich Gerasimov (Russian: Вале́рий Васи́льевич Гера́симов; born 8 September 1955), a native of the city of Kazan, is the current Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Russia and First Deputy Defense Minister. He was appointed to that position by Vladamir Putin November 9, 2012. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Valery_Gerasimov. General Gerasimov is in charge of the operations of the Russian military forces because Putin’s defense minister, Shoygu, has no formal military training.
And what is the connection between the two General Valery Gerasimovs?
The younger one, now killed by Ukranian sniper WAS THE NEPHEW of the older one, (no doubt part of the reason for his promotion to general at such a young age)
So now the deaths in Ukraine of the Russians aren’t just nameless conscripts, but members of Putin’s inner, ruling circle.
How is that going down in The Kremlin?
