Veronica Wolski died of stupidity and arrogance early Monday morning. The actual cause of death was medical complications arising from the COVID-19 virus, but make no mistake about what actually killed the woman. The virus is no respecter of persons. It will kill anybody that behaves irrationally and taunts the virus. If you’re sitting here reading what I’ve been able to write and post, it’s because we both decided to a) shelter in place; b) wear masks; c) socially distance; d) get the freaking shots.
Wolski didn’t want to do that. Now Wolski’s not here anymore. Here’s a little backstory on her. She used to love to drop disinformation leaflets off a bridge in Chicago.

I can’t see how it can be legal for Lin Wood to amass his social media followers to harass a hospital, but that is exactly what he did. Newsweek:
Wood previously urged his 814,000 Telegram followers to ring up the Amita Health Resurrection Medical Center and demand that Wolski be treated with ivermectin instead of approved and tested drugs or vaccines.
Tributes were also paid to Wolski on other QAnon telegram channels and Twitter following reports of her death. […]
In his post on Telegram, Wood claimed that Wolski had been murdered by the hospital for refusing to treat her COVID with ivermectin.
“I have just learned that Veronica Wolski saw the face of God this morning at 12:44 a.m.,” Wood said.
“It is our responsibility to ensure that these medical murders stop NOW and the perpetrators be brought to justice.
“Veronica will be on her bridge in Heaven looking down on us. We must do our best to make sure Veronica did not leave this Earth in vain.”
Just hours before reporting her death, Wood posted a video online where he called hospital staff and demanded that she be released from hospital, claiming the person on the call would be guilty of murder if she did not.

We have two pandemics running side by side, one feeding on the other and they are both deadly: the coronavirus and right-wing subversion. Right-wing subversion is motivated by money. Lin Wood (who I would bet money is vaccinated) doesn’t care if one of his disciples dies, he’ll just use the occasion to spin another conspiracy theory, as you see above. That’s his MO, it will not change. There is no contrition here, no humility. This is pure, balls to the wall, opportunism.
Maybe Dominion Voting Systems will end up playing a decisive role in this drama. It’s incredible to believe that a voting machine company could save western civilization from its worst elements, but perhaps that’s what will happen. Or, maybe even with financial ruin upon him, Wood will continue to pontificate from his right-wing platforms and talk the crazy talk.
It is devoutly to be hoped that maybe somebody will realize that Wolski committed suicide after a fashion and Wood assisted, but perhaps not. Maybe it’s just easier to believe it’s all a plot and Wolski and Wood are victims of evil forces. Seems primitive in the 21st century, but how else would you call this?
Maybe not ‘assisted suicide’ but I would think ‘culpable negligence’ in getting someone to refuse treatment in favour of being de-wormed
I guess for suicide you have to have the desire to kill yourself. Wolski had information about what she could do to protect herself and decided she didn’t believe it. So, suppose I had a gun and decided to play Russian roulette, not believing that the bullets could actually kill me. Is that suicide or what?
We used to laugh at the Flat Earthers for their willing stupidity; they were harmless, after all. Same with the Roswell Alien fans. But these anti-vaxxers are no laughing matter, because their stupidity is killing people. Lin Wood is beyond all human boundaries in his moral bankruptcy and we can only hope that an aggrieved voting-machine company can drive him into financial ruin as well.
I love Roswell and the aliens. That entertains me. There is nothing entertaining or redeeming in any way about this. This is plain self-destruction and abject stupidity.
If she’d gotten vaxxed, she’d still be alive to spread those anti-vax lies, like the guys at Fox.

She died of stupidity and arrogance. The actual mechanism of her death was the coronavirus, but if she had been a grounded and humble person she would have done what was rational and she’d still be alive.

Maybe there is a face she saw in the darkness, doubt it’s a good one. Uh oh. U mean truth, love, & social justice really did matter in life? U mean there is truth in all religious traditions that evil we do has consequences? Hmmm. Imagine that.
I sincerely hope that there is another world we go to after this one. I’ve debated this, as I’m sure we all have, over the years with people who don’t believe in an afterlife. The argument I make is that people who do good in the world will survive and go on to do good in another world and people who are destructive and foolish will not survive. I believe that the survival of the personality after mortal death on this world is contingent upon having some kind of a value structure which is life affirming and positive. Just my thoughts.
This woman is definitely not a martyr! Her death is a case of Covid fixing stupid! Like many others, I have no f**ks left to give about the ant-vaxxers and anti-maskers! I DO very much care that they are taking innocent people especially children who cannot be vaccinated with them into their madness that often results in death!!
COVID is a cure for stupidity. Maybe that’s what it’s supposed to be. This could be like a sci fi novel, “who wakes up and takes the vaccine and who is claimed by the pandemic?” It’s nature’s IQ test, maybe. What I find shocking is that every.single.day there are more stories like this — but these dummies can’t wake up. That’s what I can’t parse. I guess it’s more arrogance, “it can’t happen to me.”
Veronica at the pearly gates. Hey God, why did I die? That virus was a hoax. They told me it was. Masks and vaccines – we were told they didn’t work. So….why did I die?
God: things happen Veronica. Then, as God, I do what I can to help humanity. The vaccine got through quicker. People who understand science told everyone wear masks, social distance, stay home if you can. Those people……I blessed them with scientific knowledge. You didn’t believe them.

I’m a believer or maybe I should say I’m a hoper. I’ve known some wonderful people in my life, people who have done selfless work for others. I’ve also known very talented people. I think it would be a good thing if people could go on, past this short life in the flesh, to a higher world and do good and create more. I hope for this. If it’s not there — oh, well. Enjoy what you can.

This is the true tragedy of this. We have the answer but some people choose to ignore it. It’s just the way this crazy culture is in this day and age. I had dinner with a friend the other night whose grandmother died in the 1918 epidemic as did mine as well. They didn’t have a choice. They just died. We have had the benefit of science telling us what to do and then developing the vaccine. We have a way to go, to live. For somebody to just blow that off astonishes me. I never knew my grandmother, obviously, but there is no doubt in my mind that since the woman had a husband and two young sons she would have done anything she was told and gratefully so. Not this dumb broad we’re talking about. It simply staggers me.
