Rudy Giuliani is the kind of character that you can’t make up. Well, perhaps Kurt Vonnegut or Charles Dickens could have dreamt him up one horrible night, when a blot of mustard, an underdone potato or somebody slipping LSD into the gravy gave them a case of the willies, but generally speaking, Giuliani is pretty much beyond the realm of either reality or fiction.
Here’s where things stand: James Comer’s double-hearsay fantasy document at the FBI is in the process of going atomic. I mean, like we haven’t seen since the 1940’s. Read this piece from last week to get the back story. What’s new today is that Rudy is announcing that the whistleblower who went to the FBI is now conveniently dead. She never existed. The FBI “informant” is most probably Rudy himself and now he’s trying to shove that under the rug.

That sure would explain all the waffling and fence sitting, now wouldn’t it? It’s fantasy from beginning to end.
Rudy might be talking about the wife of Mykola Lisin, who co-founded Burisma with Mykola Zlochevsky. The only problem with that is Lisin died in 2011, before Joe Biden ever went to Ukraine or before Hunter Biden was named to the Burisma Board.
Fox’s Sean Hannity appears to have done a report to the story, but that page is no longer available on his website. A cache shows the source was a site linked to the fake news publisher News PunchNews Punch. Their source is Giuliani. The report doesn’t say her name or cause of death. It has an icon at the top reading “fact-checked.”
Raw Story is unable to find the name of Mykola Lisin’s wife or any other details about his family.
Grassley claimed on the Senate floor Monday that the so-called “tapes” she had were kept as “insurance.”
“According to the 1023, the foreign national possesses fifteen audio recordings of phone calls between him and Hunter Biden. According to the 1023, the foreign national possesses two audio recordings of phone calls between him and then-Vice President Joe Biden. These recordings were allegedly kept as a sort of insurance policy for the foreign national in case he got into a tight spot. The 1023 also indicates that then-Vice President Joe Biden may have been involved in Burisma employing Hunter Biden,” Grassley alleged.
“…Special Counsel Jack Smith has used a recording against former President Trump. Well, what’s U.S. Attorney Weiss doing with respect to these alleged Joe and Hunter Biden recordings that are apparently relevant to a high-stakes bribery scheme?” he continued.
But insurance doesn’t do you any good when you’re dead, right? So the foreign national, the Burisma co-founder left the tapes to his wife when he died, at least the way Rudy tells it. But he doesn’t know the wife’s name, only that she conveniently died of mysterious circumstances.
Friends, I leave you with the immortal words of Gordon Sundlund, EU Ambassador during the Trump administration, “Every time Rudy gets involved he goes and fucks everything up.” I think we should all chip in and have these words embroidered on pillows (give Mike Lindell a few bucks, what the hey) and send it to every Republican in both chambers of Congress for Christmas. Seriously. That is what you need to know about Giuliani and that’s all you need to know about Giuliani. That is the sum toto of the Giuliani experience.
The GOP got out here in the weeds by listening to Rudy, even when Bill Barr tried to head them off at the pass. Now they look totally stupid and it’s all on them.
If it weren’t for all the damaged this would be funny as hell. I’d gotten the understanding a good while back Rudy was mixed up in all this so I figured the whole thing was bogus. Now we know the whole thing doesn’t even rise to the bottom of the sewer level of bogus! If not for the precedent it would set I’ll be the FBI would LOVE to release an unredacted copy of that 1023 form. I’m sure they checked it out and found there was no “there” there and moved on. That’s exactly what they’re supposed to do. Take the statement and make the appropriate documentation. Then do a check/follow up to see whether any allegations are true, or at least credible enough to warrant a closer look. If the answer is no then it gets filed and that’s that. Which is what happened.
The ONLY reason Comer and other GOPers are harping on this is because they know damned well that the FBI can’t make that 1023 public. That means they can make up all manner of lies, outright bullsh*t and claim it’s Democrats who have also now had a chance to look at it are the ones lying. But as we all know the MAGA goobers are going to believe the GOPers, and tons of them are with Grassley – they don’t care if it’s true or not!

I agree with everything. I’m amazed it got this far because Bill Freaking Barr told them there was nothing there, back in the day. Now Rudy’s got an unnamed source who is conveniently dead — from mysterious circumstances, no less. She must live in Moscow, people fall out of windows all the time. Or show up dead in cars.

When a bunch of ‘pubes state they do not know if incriminating evidence exists, it is certain that it does not exist. Surely just have rudy’s name attached to any of this ought to be a red flag for everyone.
