I don’t know how I missed this last summer, because this is a bombshell. We have all speculated about Melania renegotiating her pre-nup with Donald, but the New York Times published an article about substantial payments Melania received from a Trump PAC for speaking at a Trump rally.  And these payments are in addition to her hairdresser/stylist, if I’m not mistaken and he makes quite a chunk too. And maybe there’s a kick back from that. This is what led me to the story.

A super PAC aligned with former President Donald J. Trump paid Melania Trump $155,000 in late 2021, an unusual payment that was not visible in the group’s initial federal reports and came to light only in a filing by Mr. Trump on Thursday.

The money was listed as pay for a “speaking engagement” by Ms. Trump in the new filing, a personal financial disclosure by Mr. Trump. The $155,000 payment was made in December 2021 by Make America Great Again, Again, which at the time was Mr. Trump’s leading super PAC.

Ms. Trump’s name, however, did not appear on the super PAC’s list of expenditures, which were made public last year. […]

Instead, the super PAC’s report showed two payments, for $125,000 and $30,000, to “Designer’s Management Agency,” which lists Ms. Trump as a client on its website. The payments were made on Dec. 2 and Dec. 3, 2021; in the new disclosure, Mr. Trump reported that Ms. Trump was paid $155,000 on Dec. 2, 2021.

She’s the hired help, folks. If she shows up anywhere, she’s getting a fee. And not a paltry one, as you can clearly see. Wow. Another first in American politics, a candidate so repulsive that his own wife has to be paid to assist his campaign. I’ll bet Pat Nixon is rolling over in her grave and laughing. Whatever may or may not have been going on with that pair, I have no reason to believe that Dick had to slip Pat money to do what she did. Or, maybe I’m being naive. Let’s use another couple, then. You know damn good and well that Dwight didn’t pay Mamie. And I’m likewise sure that Ronnie didn’t pay Nancy. Now this next part I love.

Another representative for the super PAC, who declined to be identified by name, said that Ms. Trump had been hired through her agency for “design consulting” for the old super PAC’s dinner and that her responsibilities included choosing tableware, arranging settings and picking floral arrangements. The fee was $125,000, and the second $30,000 payment was for additional services rendered out of the scope of the first contract, the representative said.

As you may know if you’ve been reading my work for a while now, I did a bit of catering back in the early 80’s. Ergo, I knew people in that business, bridal consultants, videographers, musicians who played at such affairs, the works. I knew caterers who worked on B-movie sets and I knew caterers who showed up at the homes of the biggest stars in Hollywood to do their parties. Nobody, and I mean no freaking body, got paid over six figures to choose tableware and flowers. That is a job which involves picking things in a certain price bracket from a catalog, not something that requires a fee that would pay a top criminal lawyer to get you off of a murder rap.  You could buy an entire catering company for $125,000 back then and guess what? You still can. So this is Melania getting paid off and some form of justification being cobbled together.

I wonder how much she got paid for her “creative concept” of the all-red Xmas trees, the ones that spawned the Handmaid memes? I wonder how she billed that out. Let’s guess: 1. Took a couple tabs of Psilocybin, $10,000; 2. Waited a few hours, $5,000; 3. Wrote down my visions, $50,000; 4. Watched them spray paint the trees in red, $35,000. You owe me: $100,000. You think I’m joking? I’ll bet it was something along these lines and I’ll bet it was paid for out of taxpayer money.

This is all a grift. You don’t see Melania a lot and you won’t see her a lot unless Vladimir or Viktor or some other Russian connection decides that they’re going to front the money to Donald so that he can afford her.

And frankly? I wonder if there isn’t payoff money involved. If anybody could tank Trump once and for all, it would be her. She could nail his political coffin shut, along with getting a book and movie deal. I wonder how much he pays for that not to happen?

Here’s another great video. Oh, God, eight more months — unless he wants to claim 2024 was rigged and you know that’s going to happen, and he plans to run in 2028.

And as many people have suggested, myself among them, Barron ought to go to college in Europe and Melania ought to take the money and run. That is by far the smartest option.

    The additional services were ‘being within the proverbial 10′ pole’ distance of the stinky one.
