We can certainly use some good news right about now and here it is. Mondaire Jones is a Democrat running for the House in NY-17 and he brought suit against the Post Office, after Louis DeJoy started wrecking it, and won.
We did it.

AWESOME!! SOME GOOD NEWS FOR A CHANGE! CONGRATS TO MONDAIRE JONES~WELL DONE!
My concern is that they don’t have enough time or money to reassemble the sorting machines in time for the election.
I applaud the outcome of the lawsuit. I am not sure that the sorting machines were ever really the issue because the amount of first class mail has been cut in half and the number of packages has doubled. I suspect the some sorting machines were scheduled to be decommissioned anyway, election or no election. However, the sorting machines created easy to understand and hard to counter bad optics.
You’re right. And many of those very expensive machines were purposely destroyed, not just dismantled. DeJoy was sent in to wreck the postal service, not just to interfere with the election but to lead to its privatisation by the GOP.
Does anyone know if this only applies in New York, in the area of this court’s jurisdiction, or does it have national application? I can’t tell from what’s visible here: clarification would be appreciated.
Being as it’s Federal Court, and the ruling was issued on a federal agency I would say it’s probably nation wide.
